Doon were Na Piarsaigh-esque in their efficiency rating today - 20 scoring chances,16 converted. To only hit 4 wides in those conditions in a final is an achievement in itself.

Congrats to Doon. English is something else, marquee player. I expected Doon to win by more coming into it to be honest. Absolutely brilliant to see Peter Casey back. Conor Boylan fairly cleaned Richie English first half.

Any time he seemed on the edge of a breakthrough he picked up an injury. He was the best club player in Limerick for a period of about five years in my view.

Derek obviously took the learnings from his slightly underwhelming stint with the Harriers in Wexford and used it to fuel his Doon success. Is there any chance of them putting it up to Ballygunner next Sunday or will they be sapped from the weeks shenanigans?

Richie English hinted at tonight and Monday but Iād imagine heās one of the more sensible players on the team. Between Doon, Tinahealy, Thomastown and Newbridge (Derry) itās been a great weekend for famines being ended around the country.
