Derek was all class at the full time whistle yesterday it must be said.
Not sure if it was picked up on camera but made a point of telling all the kids to run in to the field to join in the celebrations and stayed in the background to let everyone else take the limelight.

I am chief Derek slagger because of his absolute fucking nonsense he comes out with. But Iād say Derek is a good guy.

Teachers make the best managers it would seem. I suppose knowing each person is different finding their buttons and pushing them is a unique enough skill learned by teachers. And they have the time

I think Derek is a decent skin but he is incredibly insecure about his own style of play.
It would seem like he needs someone to sit down with him and get him to let it go, the way he does with players himself.
TFK is very fickle and if they lose next week no doubt it will be Derek and his plus one that will get the blame.
But its great to see some acknowledgement that he has certain qualities that very few others have. There were people queuing up to knock him and Doon if this year went wrong but they set their stall out from the start and barely put a foot wrong.

Ah if they lose next week I wouldnāt hold it against him. They are going to rightly celebrate for the week as they should. One of Ballygunnars biggest advantages is they are waiting around to play drunk teams
