permission to play is not a transfer as such as I understand it just a mechanism for a player whose club donât play one code(in this instance football) to be able to play football with another club. Camogue strike me as an outfit that would be gathering up a few players via permission to play also
Permissions have to be sought prior to a certain date, often in Limerick itâs the end of January.
Theyâve been a bit more flexible with that cut-off point owing to the later start to club activities.
My understanding is that South Liberties, from whom the majority of the Fedamore imports/permissions come from, were due to enter a football team and the deadline for permissions had passed when they (Anthony Nash) decided not to do so.
Liberties had no football team last year and their players played with Fedamore. Obviously it was assumed they could do so again but the relevant permissions werenât sought.

Oh and thereâs loads of pride cheating to win a game? Loads of pride in leaving 14 lads whoâve represented that club for years on the bench and play a bunch of fellas drafted in illegally? Thereâs no shame in that is there?
In any case, itâs mainly an irrelevance as Ahane will win the final with their caps against the pick of Camogue and Fedamore.
⢠Are the 14 lads upset at being left on the bench? Thats up to them to make a call on then with their Club, and not sit on their arses saying nothing and chawing in a pub.
⢠To call a clerical error cheating is quite unfair, especially on the volunteer administrator if as stated here it was a genuine oversight.
Theyâre entitled to object, but thereâs not a club out there at that level completely in order. I reckon youâd overturn 90% of game on technicalities if you went looking.
