Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

The @balbec’s bate the living shite out of the Well. 2-23 to 2-9

They have scores coming from all over. Hanley Clarke is the ultimate throw back, a lovely doubled on goal for their second. Serious scoring in the conditions. A real marker thrown down.

The Well with only 11 scores, no Lynch but still, one of the best attackers and the best scoring defender in the country. They seem to be all wrong the last few years. Something seriously wrong there.

Red card finished the Well, but they were bate before that.

Carrying the cross for the county side sure.

No excuse for that, with the hurlers ye have. Plenty talent outside the two boys as well

I told ye last year the talent outside the 3 lads drops off alarmingly.

It’s like a horse who’s trained to peak for Cheltenham that disappoints in punchestown.

The Limerick senior hurling team are expertly primed to peak for late June early July by their coaches.

Obviously players will differ and some players have played and trained more over the last eight months but a side like Patrickwell who are heavily reliant on three Limerick players won’t be suited by the split season.

It’ll be interesting to see what form the guys who done the heavy lifting for Limerick are going in September/ October.

I could see a few of my drinking buddies in the front row there

Their peak was only a few weeks ago. Could be an issue later in the year alright, but not much of an excuse at this time of the year

The Well are turning into right timber merchants.

Lot from Drom at the Newtown Kanturk game. Hard to blame them.

On the way home from Martinstown sure.

Same with Doon. Picked up too many yellows and had to change their game plan accordingly.

A war of attrition, from what could be seen through all the umbrellas anyway.

The Well had no hope today. They shouldn’t even have played Gillane, he’s not fit. Hard to see them win a county without Lynch but if they have everyone else, they’ll still be very formidable.

They’re missing Lynch obviously but Patrickswell must be weak enough around the edges?

St Pats drew with Killeedy

Drew blood more like, I’d say

Kev o brien, lynch out. Jason gillane in goals. Gillane on half a leg. They can write this year off.

Their supporting cast is usually strong on paper. The O’Brien’s x3 must have all been on the Limerick senior panel at various stages. The younger Gillane and Josh Considine have Senior medals too. Gary Kirby’s son has played underage for Limerick.
