Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

The Well had no hope today. They shouldn’t even have played Gillane, he’s not fit. Hard to see them win a county without Lynch but if they have everyone else, they’ll still be very formidable.

They’re missing Lynch obviously but Patrickswell must be weak enough around the edges?

St Pats drew with Killeedy

Drew blood more like, I’d say

Kev o brien, lynch out. Jason gillane in goals. Gillane on half a leg. They can write this year off.

Their supporting cast is usually strong on paper. The O’Brien’s x3 must have all been on the Limerick senior panel at various stages. The younger Gillane and Josh Considine have Senior medals too. Gary Kirby’s son has played underage for Limerick.

Considine aswell?

They have other good players but Kilmallock were always going to win tonight. County champions and a stronger panel than last year.

Doon did a great job. Nothing from the well or kilmallock

Any report from the NAP Doon game lads?

Doon will be very sorry to leave that one behind them.

Was talking to the oul lad earlier we brought Grimes on had made a huge difference D Dempsey was superb throughout said Downes and Boylan anonymous WOD only mediocre P Casey quiet until the last 10 minutes and then banged over a few scores. He said Doon literally folded and if the match went on another few minutes it would have been a 10 point victory

Just back from Mungret.

Horrible night. Credit to both teams, wholehearted endeavour while the pitch held up really well also.

It looked to be plain sailing for Pallasgreen as they surged into a 0-10 to 0-03 lead. Kevin Barry was prominent as were both Fannings.

Knockaderry were thrown a lifeline just before the break when big Paudie Dore drilled to the net. From the next attack they won a free on the 21 with the last puck of the half. The Pallasgreen defenders, like everyone else in attendance, thought Mark Danaher would tap it over but fortune favours the brave and he found the net. 0-10 to 2-03 and it was game on, Ger.

When Kieran Storin put the westerners a point up early in the second half it looked like the upset was on. Then the Malachy show took over, as he clipped over the match deciding scores from play and frees. Out of their 18 points he must have accounted for 12 or 13 of them. 0-18 to 2-09 FT.

Tough on Knockaderry who were down a few bodies. Liam O’Sullivan, their best player, was only fit enough to be introduced early in the second half. Condon, while in attendance, wasn’t togged while Don Hanley didn’t feature either.

This group is an absolute bear pit, all 6 teams are capable of beating each other. Plenty of twists and turns to come yet. Teams are as likely to end up in the relegation semi final as a promotion quarter/semi final.

Why isn’t Grimes starting?

Does anyone have a clue who won between D/A and Knockainey? It’s like Stone Age waiting to hear from Matt O Callaghan at midnight

Tough match in awful conditions.

Dean Coleman had a goal within the first minute. I didn’t see it because of a golf umbrella. I’d say at least half the crowd hadn’t a clue what was going on at various points with the proliferation of umbrellas.

Doon tried to blow Na Piarsaigh out of it physically. Gave away a lot of frees and Downes was a bit wayward in the conditions. Having said that Barry Murphy put everything over.

Level at half time. Doon had four points within first three or four minutes of second half.

Richie English had an absolute stormer at centre back. Coleman, Murphy and Pat Ryan were sharp. O’Donovan covered serious ground as expected but gave away a few frees.

Looked like it was fizzling out with ten minutes left. Goal from David Dempsey and Doon were out on their feet all of a sudden. Grimes made a big impact when he came on and O’Donoghue came more into it with him on also, along with Peter Casey dominating when he stayed in front of the square.

Thanks for the report :+1:

Did both sides line out as per the programme?

Good report and tremendous use of the word proliferation.
