Doon will be very sorry to leave that one behind them.
Was talking to the oul lad earlier we brought Grimes on had made a huge difference D Dempsey was superb throughout said Downes and Boylan anonymous WOD only mediocre P Casey quiet until the last 10 minutes and then banged over a few scores. He said Doon literally folded and if the match went on another few minutes it would have been a 10 point victory

Tough match in awful conditions.
Dean Coleman had a goal within the first minute. I didnāt see it because of a golf umbrella. Iād say at least half the crowd hadnāt a clue what was going on at various points with the proliferation of umbrellas.
Doon tried to blow Na Piarsaigh out of it physically. Gave away a lot of frees and Downes was a bit wayward in the conditions. Having said that Barry Murphy put everything over.
Level at half time. Doon had four points within first three or four minutes of second half.
Richie English had an absolute stormer at centre back. Coleman, Murphy and Pat Ryan were sharp. OāDonovan covered serious ground as expected but gave away a few frees.
Looked like it was fizzling out with ten minutes left. Goal from David Dempsey and Doon were out on their feet all of a sudden. Grimes made a big impact when he came on and OāDonoghue came more into it with him on also, along with Peter Casey dominating when he stayed in front of the square.

Could be wrong but I thought it was 2017 that Barrett was dropped. Think heād won the All-Ireland the previous year.
Maybe that was it. Would have been the difference when we lost by a point to Galway.
It was 2017 because Mick Ryan was manager at the time rather than EOS. I think he may have been injured anyway

Just reading through the posts from the Tipp chaps above 
The game has moved on lads, thereās no place anymore for āChubsters in Cooper Helmetsā with huge arses huffing and puffing around injury ridden teams in finals*. Junior Hurling stuff ffs 
*Sure what chance has any team in winning a final missing a few of their best players, surely that would be a bridge too far as it proved for that great Kilkenny team of 2006-10, wouldnāt it?

In fairness, Bubbles waddling around Croker in his pomp and he panting like and struggling but managing to fire over a few great scores was iconic, but the party for the Chubsters in Cooper Helmets is over now, different times.
