Hannon genuinely had his best ever year with Limerick. His All Ireland final perfomance for me was his best ever in a Limerick shirt.
He won a ridiclious amount of ball. His possession stats were through the roof. I don’t think we genuinely would have won that All Ireland without him. He snapped ball after ball that weren’t handy against the aristocrats of Kilkenny. If he missed one of those it was nailed on another Kilkenny goal. 2 on 1 overlap.
He should be in the hurler of the year conversation along with Diarmuid Byrnes for 2022.

The gesture to bring Cian Lynch up to lift the Liam McCarthy cup together was top class as well.
Cian had suffered a massive injury setback a week before the final. A two time hurler of the year but the team drove on for him. No whingeing. Next man up.
Hannon as captain has driven that approach. An absolute gent and a hell of a hurler.

We’re playing Ballylanders tomorrow night. Both teams without a win, massive game for us tbh.
Personnel-wise, we should be a bit stronger than we were in the first two rounds.

Going by your performances in the first 2 rounds I think you should get the win here. That said if Frewen is back for Ballylanders he should give them a boost.
The group is still wide open. All teams will fancy their chances at winning at least 2 of the last 3 games.

Declan Hannons worth was evident to this Limerick team in the final 10 minutes in their 3 biggest tests this year, the munster final, ai semi and final.
In the last 10 minutes of those games when the oppositons game plan had gone out the window and they were belting ball in high and crowding the middle,one man consistently came out with ball after ball for Limerick. Hannon. He didn’t fong it back either. It was calmly and clinically distributed and often for scores in tight games at the biggest stage.
He’d do the same for 70 minutes only teams avoid him.
He has true greatness. He makes those around him better
