Look home and hosed now
Huge result for @Aristotle, the score difference could be very important later in the group.
They’ll fancy themselves to get 6 points.
Mike Mc with 3-2
Hon KP!
I’m soaked to the bone but I don’t give a fuck, some win!
Congrats. Thats a huge score. Bad night for the south boys
Just in the door from Kilmallock. Newcastlewest had a fine win over Galbally. Galbally poor throughout but the defence from NCW was impressive. NCW looked to be without two county men, Kelly and Sheehan, as well as AJ O’Connor yet were very convincing 3-13 to 7 winners.
Mike McMahon had a stormer. The first two goals were handed on a plate and the third was an interception that put him clean through, ironically the big man rounded the goalkeeper for good measure. He picked up 3-2 in the end I think. James Ryan was lively down the middle and Ger Quinlan won a good bit of ball for Galbally but couldn’t muster much from play. Mike Donovan went off injured and was a huge loss from there on.
Bryan Nix, Eoin Hurley and Mike Mc (full forward line) tallied the full 2-6 between them in the first half. James Kelly, Corbett, Mike Mc, Emmet Rigter, Nix and Shane Stack were the most impressive for NCW overall. They are a well oiled, slick outfit and will be hard to stop this year. The final round rivalry against Casey’s will likely be for top spot and will attract a huge crowd.
Galbally are facing into relegation now it appears. They will do well to escape it, especially if Donovan is out long term now.
Congrats great to see ye get off ghe mark in senior football. Good clubs have 1 senior team. Greta ones are dual
Comfortable win this evening in Caherconlish, and a first ever senior football win on the board. Nice to do it in style, a comprehensive victory, finishing 3-17 to 3-5. And, honestly, it probably should have been a lot more. We missed a fair few frees, passed up a couple of handy goal chances and had a goal ruled out for a dubious square ball.
And, despite playing really well, furious with their first goal early on. Back shot out of line, left Jimmy Barry Murphy free inside on his own and he buried the ball to the back of the net. Generally we kept a good hold on him but he got free for that score early on.
Our lineup was much stronger than it had been against Kieran’s & Adare. The return of Deegan & DOC to our attack basically transformed us and they scored 3-5 from play between them, not to mention the frees won. Nasher did miss a few frees but still got a haul of 0-7, 4 from play; young Galvin got 2 from play aswell.
Cathal Downes an absolute powerhouse in the middle of the field, Pom cleaned JBM once he went on him and also got him booked. Conor Staff & Tony McCarthy excellent aswell. Dylan Corrigan arguably the best of the lot even if he didn’t get that many scores this time, an unbelievably skilful footballer.
Just total dominance, we were cutting through them time after time in the first half. There was space in front of our full-forward line that we were able to find with kickpasses and when they sat in, our runners from deep sliced through at pace.
Second half, we held them scoreless for 22/23 mins. They scored a goal after a free came back off the upright. Really good performance, should have the final few players to return next week and actually be at full-strength. Looking at that, you’d have to think had the boys been available, we’d have got over the line against Adare. But no time for regrets, attention turns to @Crutches men next weekend.
Well-reffed by John Halloran, didn’t take any shit from either side.
Mark Quinlan playing?
Nope, he wasn’t togged
We met them a few weeks ago, with county board officials present. There were 12 C/K natives under the age of 12 who had played for Adare teams in the previous 2 seasons. Nine of them were currently registered with various Adare underage teams. It stops now, and they agreed to it. County board put the rule book to them, they hadn’t a leg to stand on.
Are ye taking back the nine?
Why are they gone to Adare, the parents?
JP shur
They have a good few from croom parish as well in the underage ranks
Did some go to primary school in Adare perhaps for some strange reason?
Why does anybody go to Adare? To tug their forelock
Fair play to ye, should have been done years ago
Why do they want to play for Adare if their from Croagh?
It goes back to the Williamite Wars of 1690-1691
