Relying on poaching is not healthy for any club and, to be honest, Adareā€™s underage setup has suffered really badly in the last 10 years.

And as the surrounding clubs grow stronger, that pool dries up and then where does that leave their senior team? They should be focusing on developing their own players to be as good as they can possibly be. Also believe that there is more football/hurling strife there than in most clubs.

They havenā€™t stolen anyone from us since Willie. And youā€™d be mad to go now, as weā€™re both senior and weā€™re continually operating at a higher level than them at underage despite the population advantage that they should have. C/K going intermediate was big for them too and, again, generally quite well at underage level.

I suppose itā€™s very different from 2009, when Adare were on the back of winning three county titles in a row. Theyā€™re also-rans now, there is no longer any big pull from a prestige perspective either.

@Gary_Birtles_Lovechi is the next Spike Riordan. He gets things done.

How many of the senior team would be Croagh versus how many from kilfinny? I believe in Ballysteen for example most of the football team are Ballysteen not Askeaton. Not sure what the mix is like in Kildimo-Pallaskenry.

Iā€™m hearing rumblings that Billy Lee is gone from the football

It is true.

This is a massive blow to the footballers.

Hurlings gain.

Statement released there. He has gone.

Very disappointing news. Took us from the depths of Div 4 when we were a bit of a laughing stock, up to Div 2. Can leave with his head held high.

Took the job when no one else would touch it and restored respectability. Had some great days out under him, beating Fermanagh to gain promotion and Clare in Ennis in the championship in particular. Beating Laois in Portlaoise was another cracking night.

Ah Iā€™m a bit gutted over this tbh.

Give it Jim McGuinness, Jim Gavin or Malachy Oā€™Rourke.

Kinnerk has left his role as hurling coach to take the football gig. Itā€™s all over now.

Heā€™s gonna ride both. Picture it as something like this.

Hurling split in the 2022 Championship so far:
Kildimo- 11
Pallaskenry- 10

Football split:
Kildimo- 6
Pallaskenry- 18

One of the best in the business. He took limerick from rock bottom to a respected, Div 2 outfit. Unbelievable service.

One of Limerickā€™s good guys

I donā€™t think thatā€™s true. @TreatyStones?

Off the top of my head youā€™d be looking at maybe 15 out of 25 used/likely to be used/injured etc from Askeaton.

He left it much better than he found it. Fair play Billy  Canā€™t ask for more than that

There are two from Kilfinny - goalkeeper David Lynch and young corner forward Cian Oā€™Carroll. The latter started midfield for Limerick minors against Cork in 2021. There are 2 from Cappagh on the panel and all the rest are Croagh.

Have Croagh kinda lost the Cappagh hurlers underage given their link up with Rathkeale in football?

Yes, to an extent. One of our Cappagh lads was actually hurling with Rathkeale up to a few years ago but transferred to us. He wasnā€™t happy with the setup for hurling the mushes had in place

Weā€™ve agreed itā€™s not our place to tell Cappagh lads who to play for if they wish to hurl. If they come to us, all well and good, equally they could go to Rathkeale or Askeaton and thatā€™s their own prerogative.
