IHC Group 1 Round 5
Half Time.
Croom 0-10 Feohanagh 0-09.
Cracking half, proper championship fare. Not an inch ceded.
Seamus Flanagan. Wow wow wow. Four from play, caught two puck outs that he was fouled for and converted himself. Unstoppable. He’s here, he’s there, he’s everywhere.
One of his scores from play was an absolute worldie. Ball was going out, he managed to keep it in, Croom lad steamed in to nail him, nonchalantly flicked the ball one handed over him, catches and fires over from the sideline.
Croom are battling like dogs, Allis & Dinky to the fore. James Malone also impressive.

Now for a few pints of Coors in Nellies.
You love to see it
Think the Junior A Quarter Finals are as follows
Doon vs Patrickswell
St Kieran’s vs Kilteely Dromkeen
Crecora Manister vs Killeedy
Drom Broadford vs Castletown Ballyagran
Ahane are still turning into a joke of a club, winning no match in senior or junior A.and took a notion last year to start a junior b only to not bother field teams and give walkovers this year.
Lot of deaf dogs there
Croom 0-17 Feohanagh 0-16 FT.
An epic contest that ebbed and flowed sees Croom dramatically prevail and advance to the quarter final where they will face near neighbours Team G/B in a mouth watering tussle on the weekend of October 8th/9th.
All credit to both teams. Huge honesty from both sides, the big crowd in attendance enjoyed a splendid evening’s entertainment as the atmosphere crackled during a tense but exciting second half.
Well done Croom. They showed tremendous character to pull it out of the fire when it looked like getting away from them.
It was level with a couple of minutes to go when the rangy wing forward Murray scored a sublime point from the sideline to push them ahead. That man James Malone was a thorn in the side of Feohanagh all night long and he doubled the lead soon after as Bog Carroll and the Croom contingent roared their team home.
Feohanagh had a very difficult free from their own 65 with the last puck of the game to save themselves but Sham Flan’s effort tailed wide. He was otherwise flawless and gave a masterclass. 6 from play and three frees is what I made his final tally. Heartbreak for the four time All-Ireland winner as Feohanagh now face into the County Cup semi finals.
Croom were full value for it. Fought for everything. Allis was superb anchoring the defence. Dinky and Ryan O’Shea got through a world of work at centre field while Malone (I really hope his nickname is Post) grabbed crucial scores from frees and play. The old dog for the hard road Lucey was a nuisance at full forward and fired over one point.
Bruree lead Na Piarsaigh 2 by 1-10 to 0-09 at half time in a game which will decide the group winner. As of now Bruree will advance into a semi final with Na P 2 coming second and facing Pallasgreen in a quarter final.
Murroe Boher hammered Caherline by 3-26 to 3-10 to preserve their status.
Caherline v Kilmallock 2 in the relegation final to avoid the trap door to junior hurling.
Na Piarsaigh 2 turn it around to defeat Bruree 2-20 to 2-16.
Quarter finals - Bruree v Pallasgreen & G/B v Croom.
Croagh and Na P 2 advance directly into the semi finals.
Caherline v Kilmallock 2 in the relegation decider.
It would be rubbish to see NAP2 promote to premier.
How high can nap go ? Let’s say nap seniors get relegated would the second team immediately get relegated? If nap second team won the premier who would get promoted? Or would nobody get relegated ?
Didn’t they win a minor A in his last year underage in 2014? That didn’t really filter through to senior level?
No club can have two teams in the one grade. That’s the only rule.
Seeing as you can have two junior teams at different grades. I assume you can have two intermediate also.
The two senior groups blend into the one competition so that’s ok.
If Na Piarsaigh won the Premier Intermediate the other finalists would go up.
There was a Fox lad who hurled corner forward for NUIG a few years back from Ahane, how’s he going?
The super 6 at the top of the Limerick championship must be the worst format in the whole country.
A quick scan of above seems to confirm Na Pairsaigh have been relegated for winning all their matches and Adare have qualified for the semi fianls after been hammered again.
5 games is too many for me. 3 groups of 4 would be better. Guaranteed 3 games, more chance of shocks too in my opinion.
The optimal scenario is one like we have in Tipperary with 4 groups of 4 that are very even.
In other counties that may not have as many teams at such standard 3 groups of 4 is good.
Groups of 6 where 4 teams progress is ridiculous.
8 semior sides, 2 groups of 4. This thing have a Senior B becoz they’re not good enough to play senior A and still qualifiy for knockout agaisnst said teams is embarrassing.
