Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

Any lad that never gave or took a showlder past U12 should keep his whisht really.

Gillane has 3-9 from play in 3 games so far. Not too bad considering he was working off very limited possession today. The ball just didn’t go into him enough. Kennedy did a good job covering his full-back line tbf; if they had him in the same role against Clare, who knows, they might have won.

Gillane’ll be there or thereabouts for HotY if Limerick win the All-Ireland.

Some of the Tipp scores you’d hear the teammates celebrating it, it was pitiful. I was surrounded by Limerick people so maybe it wasn’t as clear but judging from comments in here they hadn’t a sinner. I was in the terrace today and, Jesus, those lads at the top under the scoreboard would grind your gears. A very soccer-esque way about them. They think they’re class altogether

Barry Nash right up there, along with Byrnes

Inshalla

Barry Nash having a superb year :clap:t3:

The attitude of the Tipp fans was very odd. They seemed to expect a large loss and decided not to support their team.

Colm Bonner and his players deserve better.

The young lads are hard done by that way. It’s a traditional hurling county and a very historically successful one. Whatever patch both teams are going through, you’d expect a proper Tipp crowd especially when they need to win.

Fair play to the Tipp players, they put in an almighty shift, ran out a bit of steam but very impressive for the 60 mins

Hopefully Colm will be given time to complete the job. He could have a competitive team within 3 years.

Must say coming from a Tipp man that when we hammering or expected to hammer Limerick their supporters always turned up. There would be 10k Limerick supporters every day of the week.

There’s a young mob crowd supporting them now that are annoying/rude etc but I’d love to see something similar on our terrace.

Our support this year has been a joke.

Young people don’t seem to support Tipp at all anymore, even if they were just going for the beer

A lot of that is bandwagon anyway. If Tipp starting winning provincials again and competing for Liam, you can be sure all the young lads would be the first men in the terrace

You’re the biggest cheerleader for Tipp on this forum and you not even from there. Any chance you’d throw on a Tipp jersey and go to their next match for them?

I’m not sure. I think it was largely gone even when Tipp were going well until the last few years. I can’t really put a finger on it myself but I basically stopped supporting Tipp sometime between 2016 and 2019 despite them being successful. The 2019 final was one of the most boring events I was ever at

I’m assuming Roger is his father.

That’s right

I’ve lost any respect I had for Tipp as a hurling county today when only 200 of them showed up to cheer on their team in a do or die championship match. Where were the 40k or so who went to that All Ireland final they robbed in 2019? Fair play to those amongst them that went but I thought it was a fair rotten and cowardly act that they stayed away en masse. Limerick always brought huge numbers even when we were in the pits.

The crowd inder the scoreboard are a pain in the hole. Great to say they are great while we are winning. I was in front of them in 15 or 16 when callanan rattled a few in and they turned viscous with with abuse firing cans at the pitch. Its not fucking green street

Remember the video from 18 or 19 of the young tipp fellas puckimg the heads off head other in the terrace in Semple? No sign of them now

Ye brought about 3000 to an AI quarter final in 2018. It was the talk of the country.
