We must assume they were checking the N21 derby score on their phones at all hours. They missed a classicâŚ
They won the junior b a couple of years ago I think. Was a good few ex Pallas lads playing
Hopefully they can raise a few quid so the lads can finally get away for a bit
They lost the 2019 final to Banogue in Martinstown. There was a man at it from Knockane who was a child when they won the senior back in the 1930s/40s.
Some operator in both codes in fairness to him.
Started the junior cup final for Thomond this year also
And a sound skin too
That was the one in ET I think wasnât it? It was a fine score. He has a lot of ball skills for a big man. They are a very athletic side, a lot of the reason they have a decent provisional record I would say.
Yes youâre right it was in the first half of ET.
Newcastle looked like a football team, albeit a one that could do a lot better at converting the chances they create. They had the more natural footballers, guys like Cian Sheehan, Emmet Rigter, Ian Corbett, Thomas Quilligan, Mike MacâŚ.all those lads stood out.
Nobody on the Adare team stood out. Theyâre a hurling club with a football problem.
How well he doesnât play for NCW
Adare were just missing too many. Theyâve never really had the depth off the bench and missing Hugh Bourke brings them right back to the pack.
Actually why doesnât he?
Donât know. He is a savage player but he was with thomond for years when they were senior and NCW were only middling⌠NCW not far off senior at moment and much stronger than thomond now
Ive no idea tbh
I donât think he ever played with Newcastle
Rigter has had a serious year.`
I thought Mikey Lyons had a good game, and so did Shane Costelloe.
Adare do have an awful lot of current & former county footballers who donât play any hurling at all. I know they were missing a few but they were way more competitive than last year.
Some potential in rigter, if he fills out hel be a serious player for the next few years at club & county
They kept it tight and low scoring, they are a very defensive side. Hard to pick apart. I felt in the second half especially they found it hard to advance up the pitch without being turned over. They got the goal which included some lovely work by Willie Griffin, and tried to sit on that naturally. The better football side won on the day however I thought they were well below their standards for the most part. Shane Doherty, Mikey Lyons, Oran Collins all had good outings. Robbie Bourke very disappointing.
Rigter looks to be very good alright. And you get talks on here of Newcastleâs conveyor belt slowing down in football. Rigter is only 18 I have heard.
Abbeyfeale will surely be kicking themselves as they would have beaten that NCW performance on Sunday. Itâs surely been 20 odd years since their last county? A massive drought for a traditional club, especially considering how poor the limerick SFC has been
Caseyâs could have 10 goes at kicking themselves and miss 6 or 7.
