Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

The O’Neill’s shorts 10 years ago are still far nicer than the current yokes.

But we need to move away from White as the colour of choice for most clubs/counties.

@peddlerscross Your avatar of Selbys sour puss is becoming increasingly apt.

It’s the magic number…

Are Cuala the only GAA team to buy into the stars on the jersey thing?

I think UCC used to have ‘42’ printed on their jersey to signify 42 Fitzgibbon Cup’s back in the day.

Meath and Tyrone also have stars.

Wasn’t there a story about Da La Salle planning on adding a star prior to their club final.

With the exception of all Ireland clubs I don’t think it’s necessary.

In 2 years time we’ll be due another jersey change so they’re probably going to wait until that one for the 5 stars I’d say

Stars on a GAA Jersey should only be if you are on a 3 or 4 or 5 in-a-row run

So, one all Ireland means you’re starting a 3 and a 5, hell even a 10 in a row run.

We may need to think this one out further.

For the 2012 season, De La Salle under the management of Derek McGrath got 3:3:1 printed on all their gear.

It stood for their 3rd County, 3rd Munster Club and 1st All Ireland they were going to win.

When Thurles Sarsfields beat them in the Munster Club final that year a current Ballygunner hurler who was a student in DLS College at the time put up a Facebook status (Facebook statuses were a big thing back in those days) laughing at the idea.

He was made apologise to Derek in school the following week and that was the end of the matter.

You need to have 2 in a row won before putting the 2 stars on and so on

Stand alone All Irelands are fine and all, we’ll take them all, but there’s just something really really special about doing 2, 3, 4, 5 in a row

Has a team ever put stars on a jersey when going for a three or four in a row? It would look utterly ridiculous surely.

Tipp maybe?
