Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

Huge second half from Castlemahon, as they powered over Shamrocks in the second half.

They moved Sham Flanagan in full-forward at the start of the second half, and it paid off, he bagged 1-2 from play inside 5 mins.

He was unreal, scored 1-5 overall, 1-4 from play and a great free off the ground. Alan Roche also excellent, he scored 0-8, 3 from play.

Sean Flanagan was good too, played a beautiful outside-of-the-foot pass in front of Sham for one of his points and just carried the ball well.

Jeff Reidy got his second point in the second half too, and young Condon came on to get a score. They probably should have scored a couple of goals on counters at the end but took their points.

Shamrocks did make it nervy at the end, they hadn’t scored for 20-odd minutes, but finally started tacking on scores again and scrambled home another goal, looked like really poor goalkeeping.

Hopefully Fossa win today. It was a great occasion today, was a really enjoyable open match, they’ve done a good job with the pitch. And playing at home with a good crowd in a small stand that close to the pitch, it makes for a good atmosphere.

In another era of dual players, Limerick would probably have an excellent football team as well.

Listry are gonna beat Fossa

The people get what they want: Flanagans vs Cliffords. There’ll be some crowd in Coolyroe in 2 weeks time.

@Atticus_Finch often mentioned the battle of Coolyroe about some famous row at a match years ago in Coolyroe.Any idea who was involved?

Another fantastic bonus of the split season.

The fuckers playing nowadays have it every way, I’d be fierce jealous

I’m going to hazard a guess that it was Castlemahon and Tour lads

I don’t know I wasn’t familiar with the Limerick club scene back then

Big win for Mungret over Doon tonight in the 21s.

Ballybrown or Ahane in the final.

I’ll be there hopefully.

The people’s champion … Too old, too slow 2-2 (or something to that effect)
