Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

Worked out for DJ… twice…

There’s absolutely no evidence he’s anywhere near as good a keeper as Nicky.

Nicky is methodical. The puck outs are incredible and are even better under pressure.

Dowling was a sort of off the cuff type hurler. Two very different animals.

Great to see Peter Casey starting tomorrow, be a huge boost to us if he has a good year.

He’d leave in a few thousand goals as well. Blocks shots better than he blocks baldness.

Word around Adare is that Timmy Houlihan has been asked to tog out in a few training games with the possibility of a full time return. Johnny at the bar advised me he has impressed by all accounts.

I’ve been looking for my goalies Hurley for the last few hours

No one saves anything they arent well entitled to in modern intercounty goalkeeping, its high balls and restarts.

Ya, when he adjusted about a million times for those goals no one else would ever score he showed a fair lack of agility. He’d be absolutely brilliant. Pity Nicky is an all time great anyway.

Nicky is superb. He should be regarded as one of the greats of goal keeping.

Nickie is the best keeper in the country. No harm for Kiely to add a bit of depth though with Barry Hennessy retired.

Is he actually back?

There is a certain bar of technique and raw talent in hurling that goes above specialiastion in positions. Great he is coming back, he is giving up a lot.

I don’t think he’s coming back at all. I think that’s a spoof the telegram group have done up or so I’ve been told anyway.

They held onto the 3 keepers last week. Would be a massive U turn.

This spekkulayshun on this thread is like a throw-back the good auld days  Ronan Lynch will be drafted in to cover Hannon’s absence any moment now.

It’s wrong on many levels.

Has he played 10 games in total in goals? Not even for the Na Piarsaigh seniors rightly or wrongly.

They’d be better off bringing in Chanley from the @balbec

He’s the future.

My hurling moment of 2022, after the All-Ireland final and Munster final, was The Dow’s last gasp sensational goal v Feohanagh in Croagh.
