I wasn’t in Belfast but John McGrath is supposedly back to near his best. You’d be hoping he’d improve that side.

Cathal Barrett will obviously improve that team also.

I think he has similar attributes in fairness. Don’t get me wrong he is not on Peter Caseys level, but he has done well when called upon this year in the league.

Limerick have had absolutely no test bar the Cork game in the league. Every other game has been pedestrian. That’s a gear that can be hard to find. If Tipp are uo for this, the first 10/15 minutes could see Limerick struggle.

It’s hard to gauge league games until you see the 2 15s named and my first thought from a Tipp perspective is we will struggle.

-2 and 4 extremely inexperienced
-I think CON or Hego could take Dan mccormack for 0-5

Obviously I hope I’m wrong and Tipp compete but my initial instinct is not good.

Both sides are here because they want to be. It’s a good game to get for both of them. Talk of shadow-boxing, it’s only the league etc is a load of me bollix. They’re both there to win it and will want to.

There’s experimentation on both sides, maybe more so from Tipperary and that may tip the balance Limerick’s way.

I have an inkling he’s gone from the panel. Someone mentioned here last week that Kiely said he had a panel of 36 rather that 37. Could be completely wrong mind!!
