The 12 teams in each division (apart from PIHC with 8) has worked well. Two groups of 6 would work best.
If you changed it to 16, the gap from the 4th best team in PIHC to the NaPās, Doon, Kilmallock, etc would still be huge.
2x groups of 6 with seeded teams would allow teams like Mungret, Monaleen, Ballybrown get a crack off the top teams while also still having 3-4 other even games.
He was unbelievable last year tbf and racked up huge scores but he doesnāt really play like Casey; he likes to carry the ball a lot more (from his time playing at midfield, I suppose). Wouldnāt quite have the balance, footwork, first touch of Casey (not that theyāre bad but Casey is elite level).
This is why players should play and administrators administrate.
Iām sure all the players are delighted to get the games played off on Thursday nights to go on the beer for the weekend but administrators need to step in and ask what is the best overall outcome for the GAA as a whole?
My understanding is that there is barely a Senior Club match played on a Sunday in Limerick until the knockout stages which is ridiculous.
A few of those na piarsaigh ballygunner clashes were cracking games. Was it 2 years ago na piarsaigh were outstanding in the first half before ballygunner roared back into it
This is because of most senior teams having second teams at junior A level, NaP are at intermediate grade and Kilmallock were up until last year. That is understandable. The rest of your point in the post is 100% though.
