The Mackey stand was so cold that a Corkonian would not have been able to take his camera phone out of pocket on a day like today.
Up to the back row and stand. Minimise the breeze. Keep blood flowing in the legs.
See Roger Ryan who captained the juniors bs yesterday was facing two lads from cappawhite who heād harty with in doon.
There was a fine bit if sun, glorious in the open stand.
Iām dubious about the attendance. Given as 11k I think. The Mackey stand was sold out and there was a large crowd in the open stand. Canāt see how it didnāt break 15 at least.
The open stand was the finest. Bit chilly towards the end alright
Balls the way they werenāt letting fellas cross over
You could to the open stand with a Mackey ticket I think but you couldnāt cross over once inside from jwhat I could see.
Really? I asked outside but was told I couldnāt.
Then a steward inside told me that the general admission tickets were THE WORST THING EVER, as it made his job fractionally harder
Strange really. Normally they let people off
I went into the open on a Mackey because the fella at the corner told me there was only a handful of seats left in the Mackey and we wanted 4 together. There was plenty space in the corner of the Mackey by the looks of it but it worked out the finest. I much prefer to be in the open stand if the weather is okay
Ah itās a nicer stand altogether when it isnāt raining. The Mackey is nowhere near steep enough. And plenty pillars to boot
And its fucking freezing and not enough bathrooms etc under it
Itās very narrow underneath it too. Fucking mobbed at halftime and only a handy crowd there today
The Mackey was actually warmer than I expected. Having a good crowd in there helps a lot.
A typical TUSGG microclimate day. Blinded by the sun for the first few minutes then frozen for the remainder of the game
Good few of the young lads really impressive. AOC and stokes at 10 and 12 performed well. POD with some excellent moments.
Hurley as well at 6 did a lot of good things after replacing Kyle.
Tipp got a lot of cheap scores around the middle third when Kyle went off. I would be thinking the HF line would be getting the blame.
Tipp were much better at getting shots off with only a few passes taken.
Limerick carried it to the death at times. Too many options. Just put it over the bar and no more about it.
The worst was Gillanes one, turned down what for him would be a tap over, five or six short passes later heās shooting under pressure in a much worse position and drives it wide.
A good run out though. Great to see Byrnes and Lynch back to their best.
Lynch has lost a lot of muscle. And looks much freer
Iād say nearly all of the young fellas can be happy enough with their performances.
It didnāt go too well for Ć DĆ”laigh but that surface is the last thing he needs. FOC wasnt at his best in the first half but did fine after.
They looked to be trying to work a goal on a few occasions. Lynch must have touched more ball than any other player, heāll be hurler of the year.
The young lads are now ready and wonāt weaken the team if called upon
Jason Gillane, English, SOB and CON will start
AOC, Coughlan, Fergal O Connor, O Donovan will see game time regularly in cāship.
O Dalaigh will have better days too.
