Croom had a few years of outstanding underage teams but they were atill junior at the time, probably 2 or 3 years, those lads got them to senior but are 40+ now. Their senior days were the exception eather than the rule.

Did they reach a county minor in 97 or 98? They won the football I think around the same time it was stacked with talent, Lucey, Riordan, Mickey Cahill, Peter Cregan, Johnny bags was Captain he was an outstanding hurler and a hardy cunt.
Was it 2007 they reached the senior final?
I think they were well-beaten on the day but, on paper, they would have looked to have a stronger panel than Bruree who did win one a year earlier.
The club championship wasnāt massively strong in the mid-2000s, there were titles there to be won and Garryspillane & Bruree took their chances.

If youāre the likes of Ahane then youād nearly be better off in Senior B. Finish top two and into a quarter-final. In Senior A they rarely reach a quarter. Better to be 2nd in Senior B than 5th in Senior A. Itāll be interesting to see if The Well can time their run from the long grass of Senior B this year.

Who wants to be an also ran in Senior B? Mungret will go up this year.
Technically you could finish 2nd in Senior B and go on to win the whole thing out. Highly unlikely but possible. Shades of the Joe McDonagh backdoor into Liam McCarthy that finished last year. But the chasm between a NaP and Mungret would be less than between the likes of Limerick and a Laois.

Kilmallock beat Na Piarsaigh 1-15 to 0-15 in the County Premier Minor Final tonight. Our fifteenth title but our first for sixteen years. Weāve nothing coming up though.

Best venue in the county for atmosphere. If the main pitch surface could be improved it would be the best venue in the county bar none.
