Late equaliser for Effin sends Glenroe down and keeps Effin & G/B out of relegation play-offs.

Don’t know who 4th club is but Patrick Cagney is Feohanagh player, played minor a couple of years ago

Ah yes, I do remember him. He played in Dowling’s year.

Doon up 1-16 to 0-6 at HT against Monaleen apparently. I don’t know if Monaleen have lost many to be honest; looking at the senior subs from the past two games, I don’t think there is anyone that didn’t play the first three so not sure what the story is.

Not sure of the wind scenario.

Old Christians 2-12 Garryspillane 1-08 in the Junior Relegation final.

Any result from Glantine and Killeedy?

Did Croagh line out as named?

No, Josh O’Connor (17) and Cian Costello (26) started midfield.

Doon beat Monaleen by 5 to get to semi final, they let them get back into it in the last 10 minutes but were better overall

We are all quick to criticise Ballygunnar in this forum but it won’t be good for Limerick if the junior grades are to be dominated by second teams from here on out

Na Piarsaigh 2 were the top second team in the Limerick championship this year and they only finished fourth in their lower intermediate group.

That’s effectively 27th/28th position in the championship so hardly a Ballygunner situation.

I agree that would be a disaster but the situation seems to have improved on a couple of years ago.

In 2022, Na Piarsaigh won the Intermediate and had a couple of years at Premier Intermediate.

The following year, Mungret won the Premier Junior.

We’ve had Na Piarsaigh relegated since then and not even making it beyond the group stages, same with Mungret this year.

Kilmallock were Intermediate then and have now suffered back-to-back relegations and are down in the lower Junior for next year.

The Well, who were in a Junior A final not that long ago, when it was the full Junior with 24 teams, were relegated down to Junior B last year.

Okay, Monaleen and Doon are definite contenders in the Premier Junior going forward (obviously only Doon can win it this year) but how is that any different to Kilmallock & the Well a few years back, who were always there or thereabouts?

We also have Christians relegating Garryspillane, which is good from that perspective. Hopefully the Stakers win the Junior B aswell.

Over a longer period of time, we may have a problem; you would imagine the second teams of the major population centres will only get stronger and rural depopulation will hit certain sides worse than others. But we’re a good bit off that yet when the highest second team is the 27th/28th best team in the county.

Relax. Doon won a quarter final. Didn’t top the group.

Tis coming though. The numbers the big three in town have underage is insane. Mungret and Monaleen especially.

1 county between the 3. Ok minor going better but not there yet at adult

Drom.

Yes very good. OOF only played 20s not minor. Askeaton or ABK whichever you want did not have one and that’s the four.

It was interesting enough research, MSP had a fair crew in the early 2020s but not as many recently which is unusual for a club that size.

It’s in line how adult level is going. MSP, Monaleen both rising in the last few years and Nap obviously continuing as normal and Murroe Boher on the way back too. They’ll have 4 lads from this year’s minors to add next year including Rian Horgan who I think has serious potential and one to watch.

Doon in 4th with 10 players and Mungret 5th with 9. KP then after that followed by the Ahane, the Well, NCW and Kilmallock. Although I reckon it would be better to check out the u20 stats on it to be fair as it’s a better barometer.
