Limerick GAA 2026. The GOAT's?

If that’s a guess to the question, they had Colin Burke this year.

A reserve competition may have to be look at down the line, very hard for a small junior club to improve when faced against clubs with unlimited numbers

This is fair, but it doesn’t take into account that they are the 27th/28th best by the end of championship as opposed to across the entirety of it. It may not have been the case this year, but it has been previously and will likely be again, that a club that plays a second team in the first round is playing a much higher quality of team that the club facing them in the last round.

It’s not as straightforward a point as that as I know the same could be said about a team getting a few injuries, and i don’t know what the solution would be and they’re probably isn’t a clear one tbf, but it does skew the competitions a bit.

Can both of these lose

Worry standard of hurling today Senior A now seems the new premier intermediate. Possibly the only positive outside Doon was young Begley looks a Limerick player can win his own ball

I wouldn’t worry about quarter finals, particularly in the current structure.

It’s not a bad idea at all.

Some score from Lorcan Lyons to win the first QF.

I thought he had a quiet enough game but fair stood up there. 95m out on the turn with the last puck of the game?

Ó’Dálaigh didn’t have a great 1st half but came into it a lot in the second. Ferland looked sharp again. Thought ALTC also came into it when they needed him most.

Mungret took a few stupid shots into the wind towards the end; they had been fairly economical in the first half. Brian Barry had 0-5 from play from wing-back by HT; Monaleen were probably happy enough to let him shoot originally but he definitely punished them.

How did Monaleens two limerick senior panelists play?

Which two? I think they have four

It was a weird game; the wind was strong but Monaleen were beyond poor in the first half. Work rate nowhere near where it needed to be.

And then, second half, they were way better. Wind obviously helped massively.

Fitzgerald and Langan

Ferland is a Limerick panellist as well, is there another one?

Presume you mean Matthew? Joe is on the panel too.

Matthew wasn’t involved much- for me, he was playing way too deep- was hard to see if they had him in a man marking role. They moved him forward and he immediately got a point.

Joe was poor enough by his standards. Usually very busy but had a few uncharacteristic errors.

Langan was alright. Again, not great in the first half but drove them forward in the second half.

All of them have had better games this season and will need to be better the next day, I would think.

Thought Dara Ferland in particular really roared into the game second half, he stood up when the need was greatest.

He got a lovely point under the open stand in the second half, the equaliser I think? Around that time when they needed it for the momentum.

He has pace, he has a brilliant first touch & he can take a score.

There is the possibility that he is a bit light for the types of corner-backs that are currently playing senior intercounty but I’d be taking a look at him next year.

It was a lovely score… they racked up a few really great scores from all over the park. DOD2, ALTC, Ferland all got some cracking scores…

I was seething as i had a lovely- ‘soft latte L4 cunts’ diatribe ready to fire off at @Biff_Egan …

Begley really showed for Mungret in the last 10 or so when they were taking on water. He had a great catch to set one up and scored a beauty to level it near the end.
