O brien doesnât have many bad dayâs. Hes a certain starter .
The unseen work reidy does would be fine if he was playing as a defensive midfielder. Corner forward should scoring, winning frees, involved in moves leading to scores,etc.

Only if thatâs what heâs being asked to do. From speaking to any of the lads inside, Reidy is seen as the ultimate unselfish player, he does exactly what is asked of him.
He definitely doesnât play the inside role the way Casey does, he plays way deeper, and tends to come away with less scores (he doesnât have Caseyâs range of shooting anyway).
And I wouldnât call it unseen work; he got more tackles than anybody else at the weekend; our forward press has dropped in general in the last year or two and it is important, you canât let teams just walk out.

He does a job but i can see the otherside⌠Casey can tackle from the front and add scores but itâs unfair to compare both really⌠Reidy is incredibly selfless
Agreed and itâs exactly why teams found it easier to get at our backs. The forwards werenât working as hard.

Personally, I think Casey should start at 15 if his body holds up. There is a real question whether Reidy is needed elsewhere. I suspect he might be on the bench for R1 but could end up starting at time goes on.

Was he ever considered a genuine option for midfield?
I mean he won an AI as a midfielder. Since then, heâs largely been filling gaps because of the injury to Casey.
Heâs a much more natural midfielder or half-forward. I actually was interested in seeing him tried at half-back this year to release Kyle into the forwards.
If he is on the bench, heâs a superb option to bring on from 8-12. But is there an argument that you start with your hardest workers and then unleash the fellas who thrive in looser games at the end? Hard to know.
