I thought he was good again. Both midfielders were.
Carried the ball well and got an important score towards the end to cut the gap.

He could come on there and give you a big 15 mins or soā¦not sure he has the legs to start any more
Good to see that age group competitive.
20s B āfinalā on Thursday night?
Iirc Mike Casey was unwell the day heād a tough outing v Tipp in 23
Dan back to FB for mine but thats no slight on Mike.
Presuming Morrissey is back and Casey too weāre well enough covered with bench options. If theyāre not, weāre pretty light. A few of the younger lads on the bench that have come in as subs have struggled to make an impact. We donāt have an Adrian breen type corner forward whoāll definitely ping an opportunity if it falls to him in the last five mins. Maybe Reidy is that player if he doesnāt start. Coughlan at midfield for the last five minutes would be a good option for me but hasnāt been tried. Dod could edge out Aido as the season goes on and maybe heās that player either. Thereās a fall off there after the first eighteen or nineteen players.
Thats very glass half full stuff. Peter casey wiuld have scored 3 or 4 from play in that role.
100% - a lot of us on this chat could create space for the afternoon
It should be a position where you chip in with scores - the day will come when Gillane and Bull will be quietened together.
I genuinely forgot reidy was playing until he got a point in injury time .
We are very short an inside forward sub.
We have Gillane & SOB for those 2 positions. After that, Casey is probably the next person to move in (even if he starts) but he is better further a little bit further out. Aido is probably next, he did fairly well inside last year, but has been going well at 11.
But there is a chance that all 4 of those could be starting so youād be moving the deckchairs a little bit and bringing on a HF sub.
Decent back options on the bench at the weekend with Dan, Langan, Fitz, Coughlan.
DOD & Hurley midfield; Hurley seems to be trusted a little bit more this season.
But Casey was the only forward option trusted. Tom will help but we are a little light in forward subs, for sure (there is obviously an argument that we are playing 2 natural forwards in midfield and the 6 that are starting are very good).
Is Ethan Hurley moving closer to team? Was surprised to see him introduced last couple of games.
Previously he looks well off it in his cameos
Could move Lynch inside maybe, or Hego or Kyle!
Mike Casey is in possession of the the 3 jersey and has done nothing to suggest that he will relinquish it for the championship opener. Likewise David Reidy at 15 - the unseen work the man gets through is phenomenal.
Surprised POD hasnāt gotten more game time for this reason. DOD appears the next inside forward sub and they see something in him and fair enough, but a clinical finisher in the final minutes is not his mould. Thereās players not in the squad that could have been good for this (thought will henn could have been an option) but theyāre going with an eye to the future this year.
Pretty sure Aido starting ahead of SOB last year was due to injury but they might give another thought to using him in the inside line again, either alongside OāBrien or instead of.
Whoās all giddy?
When we didnāt see Dan at the weekend for even 5 mins I think he must be a bit off yet.
Dan is better than Casey if fit.
Certain supplements can do that from time to time
No, no, no, Noel OāLeary had him in his pocket, apparently.
Iād rather Reidy did more seen work than unseen.
People are a bit generous with his contribution on Sunday imo.
Reidy scores one point = bad
OāBrien scores one point = good
