Why did you bring up full back then? For what it’s worth, I think he’d be a serious addition to anywhere in our full back line and is great cover for the three excellent hurlers starting in the full back line on Sunday. But a bet I wouldn’t dismiss this year is Mike Casey for an all star

There’s an argument for both English and Casey. Up to this year I’d definitely have Casey ahead, English hasn’t done it at senior level yet for Limerick. He’s been very good in the league though and is starting on merit. Casey has been hampered by na piarsaighs run.

Agree on Tom Morrisey I’ve been a fan of him since minor. An immense work rate, attitude etc. Hegarty is maybe my favorite player there at the moment. What a half forward line with Kyle Hayes thrown in there too.

Well it’s like this plain and simple. Richie English is miles ahead of any of our other options. I’d have him at three. He’s better than hickey and Casey imo. I think he’s a better corner back than finn and Casey too. Far superior in fact. Casey is a better fullback than finn but I’d rather finn as a corner. Hickey is difficult to call. If he regains his 2014 form, with his experience and leadership he is the right call at three. I’m not at trainning so I’m happy to let the manager decide.

English has a lovley cut to him. Getting bubbles sent of is a good example. He’s well versed in the dark arts and willing to cross the line when needed. He done a lovely tactical foul against tipp in the league when maybe forde was through on goal. He’s very streetwise. Casey is a fine technical hurler but he needs to add more of that to his game.

I think Mike Casey will be our future full back. He’s not suited to corner back at senior intercounty, the Clare game in the championship last year reflected that.

English and Finn either side in the not too distant future will be a very formidable full back line.

Regards Sunday, Hickey needs to be a lot stronger over a high ball vs Forde. Its my major worry ahead of the game being honest.

I’d agree on Casey in the corner he isn’t as suited as finn. You need a balance too. Not many teams play with a three man full forward line anymore so lads have to be very quick. I can’t see anybody but English wearing the three for the next six or seven seasons. Class act in my book.

As against English’s “cut” he is just not as balanced or composed on the ball as Finn or Casey and fouls more. I still see him as the future full back. I’d have picked McCarthy for Sunday though.

The more and more I think about it I’d say richie English marks forde, finn takes bubbles and hickey follows John McGrath. McGrath will surely float and that is probably the man mark job which is best suited to hickey. You wouldn’t want English or finn being dragged fifty yards out from goal.

Id be very wary of Noel McGrath Sunday he’s in great form for club,he is absolutely deadly when given space and he will get far too much of that off Hannon who is very loose,now in the flip side of that Declan will have a shit load of possessions himself whereas he would be under huge pressure from a Bonner Maher,his distribution will have to be excellent because you can almost give McGrath 4 pts from play now.

As I said you need a balance. Fouling can often look bad but may be a necessity or as a result of poor play further out the field. English is and out and out three. Man Mark marking around the goals.
