Ok so. It would be hard drop Flanagan.
Fuckerâ:grinning:
The way Kiely sets his bench is interesting. His 10 outfield subs give a 2-man cover in each line of the field and include a like-for-like player to the player being substituted.
For example, last week:
FB Line - Condon (Finn, English) & Hickey
HB Line - OâDonoghue (Morrissey) & Hickey
MF - Browne (OâDonovan) & OâDonoghue
HF Line - Reidy (Hegarty) & Dempsey (Morrissey)
FF Line - Murphy (Mulcahy) & Ryan
Utility - Dowling
Iâve noticed that too and think it could be a weakness.
What if we need something different? If itâs just not working. A Barry Nash or Kevin downes maverick could spark something.
Weâve a lot of like for like to work to the blueprint.
Why are neither of those two getting a look in
do you think?
Downes wasnât there for the league and Barry Nash hasnât set the heather ablaze at this level .
Casey, WOD and Dempsey were not there for league.
Iâm not sure if he will be as effective against Waterford. He ran himself to a standstill Saturday. Donât be surprised if we get no more than 40/50 minutes out of him
Barry Nash is definitely in the top six forwards in the county for me. But he can be a lazy fucker at times. Kiely wants work horses
Casey is a defender and there was a gap in full back line , WOD is a physical presence in middle third and that was needed when Hannon went off . Dempsey is a ball carrying half forward and there isnât too many of them in the panel .
Tbf Kiely has given him more chances than other player
Strength and depth, pal.
The panel is strong.
Nash was good against Tipp in the League, I thought. I think he was carrying an injury.
Is he ?? On what basis . He hasnât set the heather ablaze at senior level . He hasnât shot the lights out at club level .
Iâve no idea pal.
So he is not buying into Kielyâs plan?
I donât know. I just get the impression there is a trust issue there after the incident last year
Against Clare in the league?
No . Wasnât there a bit of shite over some supposed drinking incident last year?
I donât know to be honest. Iâd say if he came back in and knuckled down, Kiely wouldnât be the type to hold a grudge. I think ultimately Kiely wants an environment that will enable this hugely talented group to give their best
