Conor Gleeson is a much better full back than Cahalane. Can imagine Waterford were planning all week for Flanagan. Dowling offers something totally different.
Iād be lobbing everything in the first five mins in on top of him at the edge of the square. Heās one of those players that lifts the crowd. If he catches one of them and wins a free in etc it lifts everyone, team mates and supporters alike.
Heās probably bulling he hasnāt got a minute in the two games so far, now is his chance. Canāt say this management team donāt give lads chances.

The Dow has a massive on field ego. Something Limerick lack. Iām still slightly surprised. Conor Gleeson gave a hell of a performance v Tipp I thought.

The way Waterford set up with extra defenders back itās useful to have a target man who can win it himself. If itās not working the options are there to change it back up to the two nippy lads inside, Mul & Flanagan or whoever from the bench.
Thereās method to the madness of this management set up, hopefully itās all part of the master plan. Theyāve been too meticulous all year for this decision to have been made on a whim. The Dow could even be played further out the field to pick off long range points & leave the two boys inside.

Tbf Casey is only just back from a long lay-off, and from only playing half-fit with Na Piarsaigh to boot. All the soundings are that you really have to earn a spot on the 26 and parachuting Casey in doesnāt fit that m.o. Reckoned it would be Nash that got promoted this week alright.
