I wouldn’t be critical of much but one thing that needs fixing is brining Gillane out for frees around 90 yards is just silly. Anything within 70 yards leave him at them. Let Byrnes hit the longer ones. You start missing those long range frees and it could drain his confidence.

we only had the one long range free. Byrnes clipped a ball into the corner that we won. I think Gillane’s free he missed was inside 70 yards, I could be wrong now.

It’s comforting to finally have players in both our half backline and half forward line who are capable of catching puck outs.

For years we’ve been looking on at other counties who were making clean catches while we never had that in our arsenal. That Kyle Hayes point in the first half, he catches it against Buckley (one of the best players in the country) turns and over the bar. Likewise the Tom Morrissey point after conceding the goal - great catch and bang, over the bar.

Just makes life a hell of a lot easier when you’ve big units who can compete aerially.
