He was a very good hurler,
The thing is that young fellas who’ve never seen him play might assume he was one of the all time greats going on his reputation, this came about because of mention of his overhead flick against Galway, I wouldn’t mean to knock him but I saw him play many times in his late twenties and early 30s, watched him on training hundreds of times, could never really understand the fuss, there was some magic hurlers on that Cork team

Limerick have it all to do yet, a semifinal against Cork will be the acid test. Knock out hurling is a different animal to a round robin game. Let’s be honest, Kilkenny were knackered after two grueling games against Galway and had lost Walter who is the one forward who could have done serious damage against the Limerick full back line.

That’s not to take away from what was an impressive 70+ min performance by Limerick, especially after the Hogan goal. It was reminiscent of the way Galway reacted after shipping three fluke goals the prior week. But it also exposes how relatively poor this Kilkenny team are, out again before the semis.

Should be a classic clash of styles game, Limerick have to take their goal chances as you can be sure Cork will.

I would agree they missed Walsh but they had Hogan and Fennelly starting fit for the first time this year. Limerick created more goal chances than anyone else against Kilkenny this year. I think Linerick match up well against Cork and it is a 50/50 game.

The Munster final was played in the GG from 51-55 and 61-70 according to Wiki.

They started building out that side in the 1950’s, so probably around the 51-55 alright.

It’s done and dusted I believe. From my understanding Croagh were out voted by the other 2 teams and they drew lots to see who finished, 1,2,3.
Croagh got 3rd.
