All this talk of that we hadn’t beat Kilkenny in 45 years. This was a League semi final in Kilkenny and We went down and walked all over the cunts

Ah. We ve beaten them regularly enough in the league down through the years
ah it was a knock out game not the regular run of league games.
I have just checked back there.
Since that day in 1997 we have only played Kilkenny 6 times in the League
2002 - Lost in the Semi final of the league 2-14 to 0-15
2006 - Drew in the rounds of the league 1-11 to 0-14
2006 - Lost League Final 3-11 to 0-14
2007 - Lost 2-17 to 0-12
2009 - Lost 0-15 to 0-14
2010 - Lost 2-17 0-16
So that day in 1997 was the last time we had beaten them in a competitive fixture before last Sunday. It finished Nicky Brennan as manager of Kilkenny and ushered in the Cody era
