Limerick GAA - Box Office

Yes.

I think he is good for a few points in most games provided the ball into him isn’t coming from the clouds. He is a good reader of breaking ball and is tough enough on the ball.
Some of the supply to him in recent years has been septic but that could be said of all the forwards tbf.

The team I’d pick and the team that I think will actually play would have a few differences.

I would definitely have Nash at full-forward, but I worry that Kiely will put Hegarty there. Maybe not from the start but I think he will spend time there. And roasting Colm Spillane aside, Hegarty hasn’t shown that he’s a full-forward. I can see why he’d be useful in the half-forward line, will fight for every ball and hopefully stop the defender from playing but Nash is a goalscorer.

I’d probably start Casey too, I know he’s only young but he’s got a great first touch and is probably more confident in his ability than Mulcahy is at this stage. I think Mulcahy is very talented but at times this season, he’s lacked the belief to really just go and take a man on and then put it over. He’s well capable of it; he’s still working hard but hasn’t been getting the scores that he should.

Still a big fan of Colin Ryan and think it’s a pity he didn’t get more of a chance in the League.

There’s only one thing we can be sure about mate, and it’s that the ball into the forwards will be wide or high

Fong it into them!

One man, one ball.

In fairness Byrnes always looks up and picks out a man.

Limerick v Clare: N. Quaid, R. English, R. McCarthy, T. Condon, D. Morrissey, G. O Mahony, S. Hickey, P. Browne, C. Lynch, G. Hegarty, D. Dempsey, S. Dowling, G. Mulchahy, K. Hayes, B. Nash.

I believe Declan Hannon lined out for half of the match against the U21 and went well. Is there any update on his availability? (I dont want a medical report just whether he is able to play or not)

Short Answer: They simply don’t know

He will be available for selection.

In that case they should leave him out. Personally I’d go for broke and stick Hayes in at centre back with O’Mahoney and Hickey. Option 2 would be Hegarty at wing back and move Gavin to 6.

In that case play him at 6

They will.

So
Quaid
Casey - McCarthy- English
Gavin- Hannon- Slippy Hickey
Browne - O’Donovan
HAyes - Dempsey - Dowling
Mulcahy- Hegarty - Cian Lynch

Is that anyway where we are going?

I reckon that 1-8 will be what we’ll see alright. Don’t see O’Donovan starting, Jim Bob will get the nod here.

There’s a grá for Graeme Mul, so I reckon he’ll start and would fancy Nash to edge out Kyle Hayes. Hegarty will be 10 with Nash at full-forward. If Mul doesn’t make it, Peter Casey who is very much in form, will be 13.

Hayes was the one success in the League. I would start him

Brilliant news if he will be available, I wish him the very best of luck. A lovely youngfella who deserves things to go right for him

Fair play to Condon if he makes it back into the team.

Hayes will definitely start IMO. I reckon Nash will be produced from the bench. Peter Casey hasn’t done enough to start yet, he has not shown yet that he can play at this level. He will eventually I hope but for now the bench I think. Hannon is training but they don’t know if he can play championship. Byrnes very doubtful to start. Surely Colin Ryan should have been tried at no. 5 in league as he looks the best replacement but alas he couldn’t be just bombed in there now.

Byrnes is a fine hurler but we might play a bit smarter without him.

We are guaranteed to win as I’ll be missing due to a stag, Limerick generally perform very well in my absence. Hickey in particular could thrive without me directing torrents of abuse his way.
