Limerick GAA - Box Office

When is the qualifier draw made for the hurling? The day after the Cork v Waterford game?

I would imagine so. The first round is due to take place the first of July

Always bugs me why they can’t do the draw live on tv not long after the live match has finished. e.g. Round 2 of the qualifiers is nearly always a double header in Thurles on a Saturday evening yet the clowns want to wait to do the draw on the Monday morning on radio 1 for some reason. A longer wait again for find out the venues/times.

At the moment, Casey is excellent on the ball while your heart would be in your mouth every time English gets it. English a more combative and possibly better defender but Casey more suited to the corner. That’s how I’d have seen it going into this game but Casey will do well to keep his place after the last game. Not that he was so much worse than many others on the field mind. He might stay in because I think they’re going to have to bite the bullet and start English for McCarthy now. I think English must not have regained full form yet, he was in possession of a jersey last year and not many would have quibbled if McCarthy was dropped for him after his u21 performances. Hopefully he gets back up to speed rapidly.

Tis a pain in the hole allright

We will need to improve big time.

Corner backs that are good on the ball and not great defensively are about as useful as a cock flavoured lollipop.

  1. Didn’t say not great defensively, you seem to keep making up things I said.
  2. You’d love that you deviant.

Will ye reach the last 8

An outstanding corner back in Hickey playing wing back and a fantastic wing back in O’Mahony on the bench. There’s not much Limerick need to do to solve the corner back issue.

If the draw breaks for us Joe and we buck up our act considerably, it’s possibe. But I doubt it with the personnel we have in key positions and the fact we repeat a lot of old failings.

Do you think we will?

I think ye will

So you’re saying nicky quaid outfield?

We could only have to beat Offaly or someone to reach the last 8, we reached the last 8 last year and we were utterly shit. I would presume we have our sights set on improving from last year at the very least.

I’m thinking one of Wexford/Kilkenny, Westmeath or Offaly/Galway?

Dublin

We have perished upon this rock before, more than once.

Aye, forgot about them. Winners of Laois v Antrim or Carlow go into the Munster pot. Win that, get Offaly, jaysus we’d need a lie down.

If we can get Dublin they would be a good draw. They could be no complacency and team will need to perform to win . If we win it will stand us in good stead and if we lose we are best gone TBH .

Yeah fair point.

But we’ll draw W/meath. Scrape through then get hammered by Tipp or someone.
