Limerick GAA - Fuck bogball

HT: Adare 0-17 Patrickswell 1-9

Potential shock on the cards here. There is a wind, but Adare are outworking the Well all over the pitch and 0-17 is some scoring in 30 minutes of hurling! All over the pitch, they are on top. Hannon very very influential but Mark Connolly, Willie Griffin & Brendan O’Connor all playing extremely well in attack too. Connolly’s directness is a huge asset; O’Connor has lost any pace he had but he’s very smart and has won frees & picked off scores.

Ronan Connolly going well in the backs too, Jody Hannon sweeping up well, Charlie McCarthy working hard.

Patrickswell started well and Gillane looked a huge threat inside but the ball hasn’t really gone in since. Lynch has been very quiet. Byrnes has done a few good things but isn’t as influential as you’d hope. He’s on a yellow, so is Gillane, so is Seanie O’Brien; the Well will get a red the way they’re going at the moment.

Kirby has probably been their best player other than Gillane. The likes of Flynn & Kelleher very quiet.

Really struggled on their own puckouts. Short ones were being turned over, Adare very disciplined in their press and just had the numbers on the longer ones. Maybe the wind is a bigger factor than is being mentioned and it’ll completely change second half but a great start by Adare. I don’t think the Well have that much on the bench either- Paul O’Brien & Calvin Carroll probably the main options.

Back to 3. Gillane is unreal.

Back to 2

Kelleher sideline & Lynch interception & pt means there’s only two in it. Adare have done most of the hurling but Patrickswell starting to win the 50-50s. Plenty of time left too.

Jason should have made it 1, poor miss. Water break now.

Unbelievable goal from Gillane! Catch, turn, beautiful finish. He is absolutely class.

Madness trying to contest a catch with him

Griffin ffs he does this every now and then.

Great response from Hannon & Willie. Adare back in the lead by 1.

Looks to be joining the likes of Callanan, Reid and Canning for giving that almost inevitable result of fetching a ball and burying it.

Sin e

Classic KOB goal. Break onto ball & low finish.

Four or five defenders around the break and no-one tracking the runner :man_facepalming:t2:

Should Adare move Hannon inside?

Umpires hadn’t a notion there

Unreal score though. Just pure class.

Another eye of the needle job there

Bryan Curtin sent off. Two yellow cards, both for abusing the umpire. Knowing the kind of umpires Johnny Murphy has…

FT: Patrickswell 3-23 Adare 0-26

0-26 is good scoring but if I had to be critical of Adare, when they were on top, they just weren’t ruthless enough. Because the tide turned and they didn’t create those chances in the same way. They had times where they could have forced a goal chance but took a handy point instead. Patrickswell didn’t do that and that was the difference.

Now Patrickswell had Gillane in full flow, which Adare don’t have anything close to. But even still, the Well were there for the taking. A lot of subpar performances- Lynch will never be as quiet again.

Hannon was excellent throughout but they probably needed him inside to get those goals. Kirby was good, Byrnes was better in the second half, the likes of Tom Nolan stepped up too. Gillane was the big difference but if Byrnes had been sent off in the first half, it would have been a different game.
