Limerick GAA - it's Box Office - Always Has Been, Always Will Be

They had a plan for him alright, luckily we had plans for their fellas too. Kyle still played well, heā€™s just so good in the air.

Darren Oā€™Connell is some hurler, heā€™s had some year and 2-1 in a County Final is the stuff of dreams really.

Kyle Hayes is a good lad. Made of the right stuff. Heā€™ll get a good player for Limerick for the next 5 years

Tbf, the plan had no talk of timber.

He is the future for Limerick currently.

Heā€™s a super player. They did keep him scoreless, so I guess from that point of view, their plan succeeded. But he still had a huge influence on the game, he won frees, he won puckouts, he turns the ball over in their backline. And if theyā€™re focused on him, frees up space for Darren & Barry Oā€™Connell to run riot.

Glenroe didnā€™t score from play for the last 35 minutes of the game, and only scored 2 points in the second half. Iā€™ve seen them play 4 or 5 times this year and I think we were ready for anything they had to throw at us. Eoin Walsh was back, but he clearly wasnā€™t rightā€¦ Mike Oā€™Brien had a super semi-final but did nothing really before going off injured. Kept tabs on Mark Oā€™Connell as we did the first day, donā€™t think he scored from play, and limited Stephen Walshā€™s influence.

Some of their lads lost the head a bit in the second half as it slipped away and Kyle was subject to a bit of rough treatment at that stage but he didnā€™t react. No point getting involved when things are going your way.

"Limited Stephen Walshā€™s influence "

Walsh is a super hurler kid.

Croom vs Galtee Gaels in the Junior Football Final, both South teams won after a replay.

Galtee Gaels won the South final by 4, but Croom do have a lot of experience.

He was a decent corner back but wasnā€™t a dominating player at club level really .

Heā€™s been one of the best Intermediate players consistently over the past few years. Ruled the roost against Granagh/Ballingarry.

Ballingarriy hurled for 15 minutes and nearly bear then . If they even hurled for 20 they would have been in final .

JOE QUAID: We had David Reidy in with us last year and, as of the last few days, heā€™s been called back into the Limerick panel. So, it served a purpose for him.

That doesnā€™t mean that Walsh isnā€™t an excellent hurler. Glenroe probably have a few players with more raw talent but he inevitably is their player that stands up in the big games. Just makes the right decisions, very composed, brings leadership at club level that a lot of county (and former county) players donā€™t.

I think heā€™s excellent. Even in the first game against them this year, he played a huge role.

Stephen Walsh is an excellent club hurlerā€¦and was a very good corner back for Limerick in 12/13.

He is a good club hurler but he isnā€™t excellent . He did a decent job at corner back in 12/13 also to be fair .

Hopefully Galtee Gaels win that. I have great time for them as a club.

I found a 1984 Limerick GAA year book earlier today. Some good reading in it.

They were great productions back then .

Limerick still do a Yearbook?

In fairness to Tipp Co Board, they always do a smashing Yearbook.

Same here. I am cheering for the Geals after the semis

Limerick yearbooks would be short enough these days Iā€™d imagine.
