Limerick GAA - it's Box Office - Always Has Been, Always Will Be

Mice

Just back from Pairc Mhuiri, Cushendall.

What a trip. Antrim away never disappoints.

Key points.

  • Iā€™ve never met an Antrim hurling fan who is anything less than sound. Great bunch.
  • a Nordie accent on a lady adds to her attractiveness by a good 25%
  • beautiful scenery at the ground. The mountains behind one of the goals is something sublime.
  • Malachy played very well but canā€™t see him starting next week.
  • Flanagan got clobbered by the keeper for the penalty which Gillane blazed against the cross bar. Had to go off, hope heā€™s ok for next week.
  • Kinnerkā€™s influence and stamp on the side is now evident. Good movement in the forwards. Oisin Oā€™Reilly scored a great goal.
  • ended up on the piss in the social club in Casement Park. Great spot. Stayed just off the Falls Road. Did the black cab tour of Belfast this morning. Itā€™s mad how close the Shankill is to Republican strongholds like the Falls. I felt like joining the 'Ra after it.
  • @Gary_Birtles_Lovechi may have caught the flu over the course of the trip.
  • would expect us to have a right rattle off Galway next week. Quietly confident.

What the hell happened the footballersā€¦?!

Where the Galway game on?

Do you normally take a few mates on these away excursions or often go solo? The lengths you go to in following Limerick everywhere never ceases to amaze me, especially with the footballers who most people wouldnā€™t bother with.

Switched to Athenry . Theresa Mannion reckons Salthill is no go the weekend .

Going up to Galway to see Limerick win is a necessary journey :raised_hands:

Bollox to it. Hotel is booked. Will travel

Dodgy

The Casement Social is still going !! Is the stand still erect there ?? . Some spot ok .

I would settle for a twenty point beating Sunday if we could win 2 Munster championship games this year .

Wouldnā€™t head off on my own, thereā€™s always a few of us who try and make a night out of the longer trips. With people based in different parts of the country etc itā€™s a chance to catch up as much as anything. Might go six months of the year without meeting up if it wasnā€™t for the matches.

Normally share the driving too. Bollixed after this one still, the guts of a 1,000km return trip with three tolls each way on top. The scenery up in the Glens is stunning. Real community spirit up there too to keep their culture and tradition alive.

The stand is still there. There has been delay after delay for the renovation of the place, objections gone in over the planning permission. As the locals admitted to us itā€™s heartbreaking to see the place rotting away at the moment. Weeds all over the pitch and just very grubby at the moment. The social club is still thriving though. Smashing little bar. Unbelievably friendly people.

Good to get up to it mate. Itā€™ll be our last time playing Antrim for a long time. We are going up, we are going up

Ye lads from West Limerick will be playing Antrim for the foreseeable future in Division 4 of the football league.

The way things are going for the footballers weā€™ll be abandoning the league altogether and playing KK in a home and away series every year.

Antrim are in with a shot of promotion from Division 4 this year.

Sadly our footballers are now back to the bad old days of being one of the worst teams in the country when we played the likes of Cork in championship matches in Kilmallock.

This weather will suit those Galway mullockers to a teeā€¦they can shouler and close-line there way through Sunday now.

Be pushed back a week id say pal but hopefully not.

Is there any advantage to being in 1a in current format?
