Limerick senior football championship group 2 round 4 result.

Oola 3-08 NCW 1-13.

Entertaining fare in Fitzgerald Park as the townies were sent home with tae in their mugs.

Dual star (cc Brian Carthy) Richie English smashed in a quick-fire first half hat trick of goals and added a point from play for good measure as rampant Oola surged into a 10 point lead. NCW short kick outs were a disaster in the opening half and directly led to two goals. The unfortunate 'keeper didnā€™t emerge for the second half.

NCW rallied and hit an unanswered 1-05 or 1-06 on the resumption (Stephen Kelly with the goal) and even briefly led by a point before the underdogs finished strongly to scrape home by a point. Darragh Oā€™Donovan is a fine footballer.

Pitch was in fantastic condition. Surprisingly enjoyable game even if the standard wasnā€™t hectic.

Thereā€™s a couple of extremely dislikeable cunts in that NCW team and I was glad to see them beaten. Predictably they started getting ratty as things were going against them, starting a brief row at half time just outside the dressing room as both teams were going in at the break. Ref and umpires were out in the middle of the pitch as all this was unfolding. 'Twas only handbags and ended quickly enough.
