Limerick GAA - All-Ireland senior hurling champions 2018

How the fuck did you not expect fatigue to be a factor? It was 3 games in 15 days, thatā€™s serious going for the game Limerick play. Did you make the Waterford game? You could see it in the likes of Hegarty in that game but they fought through it. Thereā€™s still a lot of boys in that teamā€¦

Oh, and good post pal.

Casey, Gillane, Flanagan your full line.

Everything else stays the same.

Iā€™d still like him to try one or two players against the McDonagh team, even if it is poor opposition. Surely Downes would offer more than Dempsey as a sub? And give Hickey a ran in the HB line now. If someone gets injured we will need him.

He should get a run in the corner if Finn is not right.

Finn is right.

Ya itā€™s a pile of nonsense that thereā€™s loads of question marks over the team only glas can come out with that. One swallow doesnā€™t make a summer. Mike Casey struggled massively. Heā€™ll have learnt more marking Conlon on Sunday than he will all year. Heā€™ll come back better Iā€™m sure. Richie English struggled massively v Galway last year and turned it around. The notion we arenā€™t getting enough out of lynch is frightening. Heā€™s been our best player all year. Dowling and Flanagan doesnā€™t work. Bring on Dowling with 20 to go. Dempsey has four chances from the bench and took none of them. Pete Casey in too provided he goes well tonight and in trainning. Very little question marks about limerick. Weā€™ll struggle against raw pace or huge physical units in the full back line. Albeit finn is a massive loss. Other than that we just simply need to keep our basic skills up and our work rate. Our touch was off v Clare and our work rate dropped off massively. When this happens it looks very bad but in reality itā€™s easily fixed. Flanagan was the focal point of our attack all year and Gillane working off him was our secondary option. Kiely needs to forgive and forget. Go back to what worked all year. Dowling off the bench is a much better option too than nash or Dempsey. Christ not getting enough out of Cian lynchā€¦

Thereā€™s some serious question marks over Limerick now.

To drop an experienced high performing player like Hickey only to see John Conlon absolutely destroy his full back replacement must have caused consternation.

Both corner backs went off injured, which raised a conditioning question, but it turns out theyā€™re both grand a day later, which raises a mental breakdown question.

The wing back who apparently has a lot of cut lay down to sickeningly get an opponent sent off, but was so ashamed he had a nightmare afterwards. If youā€™re going to cheat then go all in. No point in feeling guilty afterwards and barely hitting a ball.

The midfielder fresh aired a line ball.

The two big, rangy, young lads in the half forward line try hard but neither of them can strike the ball cleanly, especially on the run. Hayes dribbles a ball into the keeper in every game - his equaliser in Cork must have been a mishit.

The full forward line was hopeless. Skying ball to a midget and drilling diagonal ball into the corner for a rotund guy to barrel after. The subs were shit too and the management was absolutely clueless.

The unused players like Hickey, Pat Simon, Downes, the harshly discarded Murphy, Downes and Wayne McNamara must be absolutely seething.

Edit: Forgot to mention Malachy.

You were going fine until the last line.

You should have added willie oā€™meara for cheap likes

Wayne Mac will be delighted that heā€™s seething.

I was going to mention Barry Foley - best player in the Limerick county championship, but not even in the squad.

And why not?
But the clincher would have Donie who is still tearing it up in the club championship

 letā€™s say it was getting further away from us around 55 to 60, we were going point for point with Clare in the second half but never looked like narrowing the gap, the margin at 60 minutes was the same as at half time, but the game was drifting away from us, 65 mins or so is when the floodgates opened and we lay down.

I didnā€™t think three games is three weeks is huge for these guys, we looked a very fit team and weā€™re young. I was asking @caoimhaoin his thoughts at the start of the Munster championship and he reckoned 3 games was fine physically, but could be mentally tiring. I was at all the games yeah.

Why have you Flanagan shifted to the corner and Gillane at full? I donā€™t expect Dowling to be dropped. Not even subbed in either game and when Nash came in he was moved to midfield. Played every game for Kiely last year, had to wait for his chance this year and has been good when he got it. Itā€™s between Flanagan and Gillane for the corner spot. This post will prompt the usual filler responses.

Well the proof was on the field the other day. And it wasnt exactly 3 weeks, it was 2 weeksā€¦ Cork were fucked against Limerick second half also and Waterford were fucked against usā€¦ agree itā€™s probably as much mental but the type of game Limerick plays takes serious effort from the half forward line in particular and they were way below previous performancesā€¦ I think Galway were the only team to win playing 3 or more weeks on the trot and that was against Dublin.

A break is needed and will be introduced next year - Clare had the ideal situation this year - two/break/two ā€¦ they had plenty in the tank when needed Sundayā€¦ as I said, the 3 weeks is a bit misleading as itā€™s actually 14/15 days.

How are tickets going

Canā€™t argue with any of that.
