Hard to say. Rushing them back too fast could do more harm than good. Iād be more interested in seeing them rested fit and ready for summer than having them back for any part of the league.
I presume he will have a few challenge games lined up. He will need that at least for the NAP lads to try and get the balance right
Hard to get the balance right, while it would be nice to win the league or even put in a performance in the knockout stages, unlike the last few years, if we beat Clare thatās job done as far as the league is concerned. I donāt see any need to rush them back.
At the same time, not being involved at all may hinder the chances of those on the fringes. Bar Dowling & Downes, none of them have been starters previously and they may struggle to nail down places. Michael Casey & Alan Dempsey are definitely good enough to do so imo. I donāt think Dempsey was even named in the squad though.
It looks like we have finally reached the holy grail
Clare have a lot of injuries and Tony Kelly carries that team anyway.
I am glad that we are successful through picking political teams because there are obvious financial benefits as Daddies will hand over cheques if it means that they get games. Teeje is tuned into this as he is such an important part of the business world and mixes with high flyers. JP likes to hang with Teeje and that helps too.
The last thing we need in Limerick is a manager who refuses to play ball with people who have chequebooks. We have a big county board debt, Teeje is open to traditional Limerick ways of clearing debt and wont ever get the credit for that from the clean living mass going types
but this is how the business world works. You scratch my back and I will scratch yours.
If a player is under pressure and not performing, just put him on the frees against a weaker team and the scores will clock up. Clever management by Teeje. Even cleverer management was clearing out the dead wood from Na Piarsaigh. They think they own Limerick and they think that Shane OāNeill is a better manager.
It also helps that Teeje has the run of 95fm and this is important as other bitter rivals for the job cannot create agendas on local radio. Teeje is a natural manager and it comes easy to him and he has a better media profile than anyone else and this is important. He will be rewarded with an unprecedented mid season long term contract on Sunday evening.
Lovely, are you bringing the rest of the soccer crowd Sunday?
He is entitled to go to Cheltenham if he wishes. Who are you to judge?
The Na Piarsaigh element will upset the balance of the squad. We got promoted without them
For once Davy is correct but he doesnt realise how correct he is. He will realise the wisdom of his words on Sunday
John Fitzgibbon is a piece of gold, the Limerick version of Cha Fitzpatrick. John Allen ignored him but thankfully Teeje did business. It is important politically to Limerick that we are successful with Fitzgibbon on the team and not without him.
Are you saying TJ was involved in a recent 95fm coup?
Decent profile of the Na Piarsiagh panel ahead of the final tomorrow from the Leader
Tomorrow is a very important day for Limerick hurling. I will be hoping to witness a Limerick man climb the steps of the Hogan stand for the first time in my 46 years on this earth. I have booked Friday off
Meanwhile our U21 footballers are giving Kerry a game of it in Tralee. Down 5 to 4 after 18mins.
Itād be a huge monkey off the back pal, and with Kilmallock as well weāve been thereabouts for the last couple of years.
Sunday is even more important, the players coming through need to be playing the top teams. Weāve had more then long enough now in 1B
The wife is happy to let me off for the next few days. Bought her a car on Monday so Im in the good books. Reckon I might even get away with going to Thurles Easter Monday for the collegesš
Youād buy her a car every year if you can get 12 days out of it mate
Toying very much with the idea of heading down to Ennis Saturday night. (A chance to break the new car in) Only thing is it depends on what time I get back from Dublin tomorrow. Unfortunately when you get to my age the drink takes a bit longer to get over so I might just get a good night sleep Saturday night and head off early Sunday
Down 7-5 at ht.
Doing ok, matching them. Need to get the kick passes to stick at 14
Get the good nights sleep Saturday night mate, maybe have a couple of pints just and be fresh for Sunday.
Only major issue I have is trying to watch the game in that place, was there for the u21ās MF last year in the terrace and it was a disaster. Terrible view.
+1 was in the terrace myself for the MF. Only half hope is try to get into the seated area. Anyway I think Iāll take your advice and head up Sunday morning
