Limerick GAA, Still Getting Knocked Down

Thatā€™s what I meant

Any idea if this is on TV next Sunday?

I am pretty sure I saw it advertised at the end of yesterdayā€™s coverage on TG4. Not sure if it is live or deferred

We are going up, we are going upā€¦ We are going up, we are going upā€¦

Seriously, could be a great week for Limerick GAA if NaP and the senior hurlers win this week

The clean sweep is still on - Schools, colleges, club, inter-county.

Thereā€™ll be a massive crowd in Ennis. Hopefully weā€™ll bring a few more than we had the night of the u-21 Munster final last year when we were outnumbered about 20 to 1.

Hegarty has left the football panel to concentrate on his hurling. Unsure if that was posted earlier but anyway itā€™s a wise move from the young man.

Couldnā€™t see how itā€™s a wise move, he wonā€™t be near any match squead for the hurlers!

Some of the Clarehurlers lads are after having a mental breakdown because we beat Laois by 32 point. Hilarious.

Well he is only wasting his time with the footballers. What is the point in dragging his arse around behind him for the next 12 years in division four of the league playing London and Waterford with the best he can hope for beating Sligo and Antrim in a good year on a qualifiers run? Whatā€™s the point in looking back on that when he could work on his hurling and get onto a Limerick senior panel that can win something tangible be it a Munster medal, NHL or god willing an All-Ireland in his lifetime as a player. I know which code i would choose if i was him.

Not this year maybe but given a year when he concentrates on hurling alone he has a chance.
I saw him in St Pats the morning of the senior hurling county final. He was walking around with a hurley and sliotar just minding his own business and tapping the ball to himself. I was talking to an ould boy and I said wasnā€™t it great to see him with a hurley in his hand. He turned back to me after a few seconds and said something like ā€™ Around here he better get used to playing the ball up against a wall as there wasnā€™t anyone around that would hit it backā€™.

Anyway looking forward to the trip on Sunday and hopefully bateing those cunts Donal Og and Davy.

According to Davy we were at ā€œchampionship paceā€ in todays indo

If I was picking the team for Clare, Iā€™d pick:

  1. Quaid. Has to be in goals really, needs to get his puckouts back to previous levels though.
  2. Condon. Been very good this year.
  3. Richie Mc. Still our best full-back.
  4. English. Heā€™s nailed down his spot, a fine player.
  5. Wayne. I just think heā€™s better than the alternatives atm.
  6. Byrnes. Slightly worried about him pushing too high up the pitch and leaving space behind him. Clare have the pace to expose that.
  7. Seanie Oā€™Brien. Iā€™d drop Hickey, hasnā€™t been good enough. Iā€™m not totally convinced that Seanie is the answer, but again, better than the current alternatives.
  8. Browne. Our most important player.
  9. Jim-Bob. I think TJ sees him as crucial against the likes of Clare, Iā€™d agree.
  10. Gavin. Heā€™s going to play in the forwards and Iā€™m not totally against the experiment.
  11. Morrissey. I think centre-forward is his best position.
  12. Oā€™Donovan. This is the toughest position. You could bring Nash out and play Graeme inside, but we donā€™t play a game to suit him. Fitzgibbon did class against Laois in fairness but of the players available, Iā€™d just about pick Oā€™Donovan over Ryan & Reidy.
  13. Nash. Iā€™d drop Mulcahy just because we donā€™t play a game to suit him. Nash is big, strong and a natural goalscorer. In a 2-man full-forward line, Iā€™d give him a better chance of winning his own ball and scoring. I think both him and Morrissey are definite starters.
  14. Hannon. Has to start inside based on form.
  15. Lynch. To come out the field and roam.

Obviously TJ wonā€™t pick that team. Hickey will start wing-back, Mulcahy will start corner-forward. Wayne might start at wing-back, although Morrissey could also, and heā€™s a decent player too. I think Nash & Morrissey will both get deserved starts.

Sunday is all about the win. Much like the Offaly game, performance is irrelevent.
After that he should have the NAP contingent back for a crack against probably Galway or Tipp. Personally I would prefer Galway with Canning in full flow. It would tell us how much off we are.

Either way what team you see on Sunday will be irrelevent come June as he will revert to type

Based on whatā€™s available at the moment id totally agree with that team. Iā€™d still prefer to see hickey corner back come summer and Hannon at half forward. I also donā€™t think the Na P players should be used at all even if we get another few games in the league.

FFS I hope that teege and co understand puckout strategy better than the posters who are picking Oā€™Mahony, Fitzgibbon & cinneide together in the half line.

Eh, whack it?

Sunday will tell if weā€™ve learned anything or not

Does anyone know if PMU will be going to the horse jumping festival near Wales this week or will he stay to save his hole by having his team as prepared as possible for the upcoming match against Ɠg and Davyā€™s Claire in that shithole Cusack Park?

After this weeks games they need to get back into the inter-couty set up.
