Personally think Wexford should be justifiable favourites. Very Kilkennyesque in their journey through Leinster.
However the pressure is all on them. Question is can they handle it?
Heād have been earmarked as our strongest forward at this level at the start of the year. I think heās a cracking player and heās stronger and older than most of the forwards that started against galway. If heās fit and on form iād be pencilling him in.
Iād expect the same 15 to line out with a couple of possible changes to the bench. Kevin OāBrien looked laboured against Kilmallock when I last saw him and he had a fairly heavy strapping to the hammer. Heāll have had 2 weeks further recuperation by next Saturday but I donāt think heāll start.
If Robbie Hanley is fit Iād expect him to at least make the bench, maybe along with Aaron Gillane who was excellent in the game mentioned above.
Gillane was tremendous in that game, caught a few great balls at wing forward. He outshone a few of the much bigger names on view from both teams.
Canāt envisage many changes from the last day. Really think ALTC can be the best of this bunch long term but a great sub to bring in. Came on in the forwards in Ennis (wasnāt match sharp that night) and plays there for his club but I think his best position is wing back. Had a nice cameo there against Galway.
Itās all well and good saying 11 of the starting team are underage again next year and most of them have two years left at this grade etc but itās the here and now that matters. Itād be a nice boost after a fairly grim year overall.
