A nice one to win.
Mad how tight the margins can be in a knockout championship though. Against Tipp McCarthy pulled off an unbelievable save in the second half. If that had gone in the chances are that Limerick - down to 14 men - would have been knocked out.
Real positive to win it when only one of this team has played senior championship.
Wouldnât be getting carried away with all this talk of a possible three in a row though. An awful lot depends on the draw next year and how the seniors affect preparation. Imagine facing Waterford away, who won the minor AI in 2013, away three days after a Munster senior championship game. In turn Tipp beat Waterford in the minor in 2013 while Galway beat us in Croke Park. Wide open again next year.
The halfback line were the launching pad this year and obviously they are all overage now. Byrnes is a cert for the senior panel.
Anyway can enjoy a few days in Listowel now first.
