Limerick GAA, Still Getting Knocked Down

You don’t need a hurling coach when you’re just gonna whip it.

Patience, pal. I’m sure they’re still in the process of finalising the appointment of a hurling coach.

You’re right pal. I should relax really, I’m sure Teege has it all in hand. Thanks for calming me down, I got a bit hysterical there for a moment.

Wallace is a better coach than Kinnerk.

Clarke is a fucking joke and most of the damage done last year was from his stupid fucking drills.

So it’s going to be Wallace or Kinnerk as coach we assume? They are likely waiting on Kinnerk as first choice with Wallace as Plan B?

I would leave Kiely as is if they are only going to bring him in as selector. Having him as a selector under TJ would be an insult. Kiely main man or nothing, but his time will come.

Throw up a few examples there, bud.

Like the time our goal keeper was injured…

Did he have them pushing cars or something?

Shouldering each other at force.

Clarke is the one lad I liked from that team and most were very happy with him. He is far more astute then fuckwits give him credit for.

The tackle bags were there in John Allan’s time.

Were they shouldering each other or the bags?

You’re a club mate of Clarke and drink in his pub, your judgement is clearly clouded and not impartial on the matter of his suitabillity for a coaching/selector role with Limerick.

The opposite of what I heard. I hope you’re right, Clarkey is sound and a legend.

Of course.

+1 - I heard some of his drills were a pure joke and there was lots of resentment.

Clarke is from the Tom Ryan and Ger Lough school of training. Flog em till they drop and them flog em till they get up again

Was in Limerick yesterday visiting a few relatives. A cousin of mine reckoned Kilmallocks rum this year caused massive disruption to the inter county preperations this year. Anyone have any opinions on that?

I said it at the time - Kilmallock’s extended run (and it’s no fault of theirs) ruined our league campaign. It cost us promotion. We drew with Waterford in the first game of the league with half a team missing. Between injuries and everything else we were missing almost our entire first choice forward line.

O’Mahony played that night but if Graeme Mul or POB played we’d have won that game.

We just limped along in the league after that.

Tin hat on but it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if the 2015 county champions got knocked out of the Munster club early this year.

Suppose it doesn’t help when 5 to 7 players from one club are unavailable til very late in the season. Doesn’t help some of those players to break back into the team either and it has to be difficult to get them to the same level of fitness after a protracted season.
