That was when hurling was hurling. None of this rubbish with tactics. Just playing off the cuff and beat your immediate marker. None of the Limerick players of that era wore a face guard as far as I recall, bar Damien Quigley. A small few would have helmets alright but theyād have been flimsy like the Joe Deane type helmets that would go flying into the air with any contact.
Just watched it there, he didnāt feature in that bar the first few seconds but Galligan was a lovely hurler to watch, lovely dancing feet, Houlihan swung the hurley like a pick axe.
And I couldnāt ever recall Corcoran playing at midfield.

And the gas thing is that Bruree will avoid relegation if they beat Liberties, who are equally shite.
It was the right move to reduce the number of senior teams from 16 to 12 a few years ago, as the quality just wasnāt there. On this evidence, thereās a strong case for reducing it down to about 8.

Agreed these teams are out of there depth. Bruree and liberties wouldnāt beat intermediate teams by that much.
