Points? Look at his performances in every game this year, clearly the weak link on that teamā¦Heād do well to transfer to one of those senior teams and away from that junior club. Is he your boyfriend or something?

Diarmuid Byrnes was centreback v Clare last year. Got sent off.
In fairness that team under Ciaran was cobbled together. Iām not sure how much prep was put in. Cian Lynch did his leaving cert the morning of the match.
I just want you lads to stop hyping up these young player when clearly half of them are not good enough. Personally iād have no time for anyone that hurls with kildimo-pallaskenry and donāt believe they belong on the Limerick senior team.

No one is hyping him up but ruling him out is silly. O Connell had barely played a game for the 21s In the last 4 years. He was v poor v tipp but improved in every game to the final. Of all the backs he plays the most difficult role. Sweeping while still having to follow his man a fair bit. He done very well and will only improve. Compare Byrnes to him this year and last year. These lads can improve when exposed to a higher level of hurling. To right off any of them is plain silly.

What club is OāConnell from again? He had a good year IMO at U21 level. Not sold on him for Senior level yet as think some of the others are more ready made to make a quicker impact. But i wouldnāt rule him out down the line.

I thought he was fairly ok for the intermediates in their run too. Slow enough but plays the sweeper role well.

We have far more natural hurlers in the traditional clubs that are bred for senior hurling, you canāt make a thoroughbred out of a donkey etc. etc.
