Good clamping by the way chief

Limerick seniors had a fine training this morning. Fairly impressive stuff. Steve Walsh is gone.

Who else gone? Were you in at it?

Yes.

Great very informative.

Why’d I tell a cunt like you?

The great man has retired.

Ah lovely.

The panel is about 40 at the moment. Open ended. Nobody over 21 was called it from what I could see.

Wanker.

The greatest.

Just back from Fitzgerald Park.

Premier intermediate hurling final. Bruree 3-07 Knockainey 0-13.

@balbec will be seething they won a county title on his turf. Hard to begrudge them it, though. Held a flimsy enough five point half time lead after playing with a substantial wind. They looked in trouble when the All Blacks reduced it to a point but a third goal gave them some breathing space. When Knockainey were reduced to 14 late on it killed their hopes of a comeback.

Cappamore beat Feohanagh/Castlemahon in the intermediate final. Didn’t look likely when the men from the west led by 8 points early on and were rampant in all sectors. Incredibly Cappamore then rattled off 1-06 without reply, including a goal with the last puck of the half after a mistake from the 'keeper.

Cappamore always had their noses in front in the second half but a goal from Seamus Flanagan gave F/C the lead with about 10 mins left. Cappamore replied with one of their own and then tagged on four or five points. Flanagan was subsequently sent off on a straight red after a reckless pull across a defender. Winning margin was five or six in the end.

Plenty of roasters with headbands tied across their foreheads in attendance.

Cappagh win the Junior A football title. Great win for them over Galtee Gaels.

Who won the junior hurling? Na Piarsaigh led 4-02 (four goals and two points) to 0-07 at half time.

Drom/Broadford produced a great second half to win it by 1-16 to 4-6. Excellent game, in fairness. The Drom goalie had a shocker in the first half and Na P had 3 goals on the board before they even registered a point. They subbed the keeper off and took over. They were by far the better team in general play and levelled it with about 10 to go. Na P went a point up on two occasions but Drom got a softish free around midfield in stoppage time. It was nailed and the whistle went on the puckout.

Some sight to see that ape Timmy O’Connor running around mouthing at the ref and then joining the Drom/Broadford celebations, as he’s originally from back around there!

My Grandmother was a Broadford native so I’ll drink a pint for them tonight. That result is a good boost for west limerick hurling.

Good to see :ronnyroar:

Back in the day it was predominantly a hurling club. Obviously they’ve enjoyed phenomenal success in football over the last 15/20 years but pleased to see them win a county hurling title.

I would have had them at the start as massive outsiders. I’ve no connection with the club at all myself, but I’d love to see them drive it on in both codes. Fantastic achievement when you consider the population etc.

Really massive achievement for me, hope they do Limerick proud in Munster and stay up next year .
