Face facts Joe. Itās a two horse race. Kilkenny on top and Tipp the only team giving them any bit of work to do. You could pick the best of Clare, Limerick, Galway, Waterford, Wexfo, Dublin, Cork and Kilkenny in particular would still win pulling up.
Weāre only fooling ourselves st the moment. Before anyone goes on a rant about under 21s someone please tell me how many u21s Kilkenny have won in the last five years in comparison to senior. Clare have won 3 u21s in a row and apart from one glorioys year, they have done fuck all. Wexford just thumped Kilkenny to win their third Leinster and yet I guarantee you when they come up against thecsame Kilkenny shirts at senior level, the thumping will be reversed.
It canāt all be blamed on management either. On the assumption that management do their best then a certain amount of blame must also go to the players.
Limerick have implemented a good underage structure but it doesnt look like baring fruit based on what Iāve seen. At the end of the day Limerick population wise have nearly three times the population of Kilkenny but five times less All Irelands.
Thereās something rotten in the state of Denmark
Really?
Would you look at whatās left in the thing and predict one team apart from Tipp who would hold Kilkenny to less then two scores?
You say its bollocks. Yet look back over the last five years and then come back and tell me itās bollocks.
Kilkenny could easily have been beaten three times in last years championship. Twice they were very lucky to escape with replays.
They are an excellent side and worthy all ireland favourites but to say they would beat the best of 6 counties or so is rubbish and complete hyperbole especially as a solid but unspectacular Galway side held their own with them for long periods a few weeks back.
Would you go way out of that Galway held them for forty minutes and without shifting gear. Our lads held them to two last year and on this years evidence proved that we were nothing more than a flash in the pan. Cork are so bad that even the roasters canāt figure out how they lost to them. A bad Dublin team beat an even worse Limerick team. Wexford were taught a lesson by Kilkenny and subsequently collapsed in thevqualifiers. Waterford have gone all Jim McGuinness and are trying to stop teams scoring rather then getting enough on the board themselves.
The simple fact is with the exception of Tipperary, all other teams (including Clare) are not up to the standard. By thinking thats bollocks is bollocks itself and the disribution of senior All Irelands proves it
By the way. Can anyone explain to me what the fuck is happening in Limerick now. Our esteemed chairman has more or less endorsed Tjs position for next year, yet eants to put him up for a filleting in front of thr clubs tomorrow night on the eve of a Munster semi final. Jesus
Elvis informs me that tonightās county board meeting took 45 mins from start to finish. Hurling chat took about 20 mins! TJ is staying in the big leagues.
The second he got the ball I said to lad beside me, āwatch this heās going to try and be the heroā
When heās not falling down heās getting up.
