Really struck home today what a big chance Limerick seniors missed. Donât know how they contrived to lose to that Cork team. If theyâd won that Munster final, they would have avoided those swamp like conditions of last Sunday.
6 starters and most of the bench will be underage next year
Enjoyable day out in Croke Park.
This team has constantly put up big scores this year. In 5 games theyâve amassed 3-17, 0-23, 3-14, 0-24 and 1-27. Great scoring power in that forward line, they are all able to chip in with scores and weâre not relying on just one or two. When they hit one of their ten minute purple patches they are a joy to watch, firing over a flurry of scores - the first 10 minutes today, midway through the second half of the Munster final replay, just before and after half time against Cork etc. There has not really been one complete 60 minute performance yet.
The positive thing is that they werenât even at full throttle today, slackened off a bit in the second half and missed a few chances. Galway never got going but they were dispatched clinically enough all the same. There are a couple of vulnerable positions but hopefully the standout players, who are exceptional, can get enough scores on the board to beat Kilkenny. Donât need to be hyping up young lads too much but out of the 2005 vintage we got Seamus Hickey, Tom Condon and Richie. If we get three similar players out of this batch that would be fantastic. Not the be all and end all to win at minor but would be nice to win it in 3 weeks time and get the monkey off the back.
How many scores could be attributed to the exposure to Croke Park the lads got last weekend?
1-26
We got Gavin OâMahony and Jim Bob as well @dodgy-keeper
How could I forget! Must have a look and post up that team from 9 years ago.
Lads like Richie & Jim Bob were never really spoken of as nailed on prospects for senior level but theyâve both gone on to be mainstays now.

Richie Mc was an unused sub so? Almost certain he was on the panel that year.
A great commendation of the work being done by the Limerick County Board from Seamus Hickey there.
Richie Mac couldnt get on that minor team.MichĂ©al Ryan of Doon who came on v Wexford also played on that team.Brian OâSullivan and Dave Moloney also played a good bit of Senior Hurling with Limerick from the 05 crop.
Cian Lynch hurled a good second half but the Galway number 9 was doing well on him in the first half and they moved him to wing forward for the second half for some reason before eventually taking him off
Cian Lynch got on more ball than anyone yesterday. For all his obvious skill, pace, strength in the air and scoring prowess he shows, its his work rate i love most. The young lad breaks his bollox when asked to do that type of role. Great attitude. Cant bate breeding.
Thought he had an excellent first half as well.
A great win for the minors yesterday, however itâs very dangerous for Limerick to be heading into the final as raging hot favourites.
The two Kilkenny schools teams have a winning habit and many of the Kilkenny team are drawn from here.

Ard Scoil are fond of winning Hartyâs too. We have to overcome this complex about being favourites at some stage if we are to ever kick on. These young lads have no fear, they threw the ball around with an abandon yesterday⊠They should be expecting to beat KK in 3 weeks, rightly so. Expect it and back it up. Fuck misgivings about favouritism, it is justified.

3 point favourites isnât really raging hot is it? Anyway, they deserve to be based on whatâs gone. If they can back it up and go on and win it it will be a really big boost for Limerick hurling. If not, well, same old story for us then.
That Kilkenny team are no mugs and were much better than WD but let them back into the game- Only one team contested extra timeâŠ

Blackrock beat Bruff in the PIHC 3-16 to 1-19
Dylan Dawson of Blackrock hit 3-8 tonight in Prem Inter Championship in an awesome display. He has been with the Minor panel all year and i am reliably informed by two seperate people with different young lads involved that he should be starting at corner forward, never mind sitting in the stand not togged out. He only togged out once for replay v Waterford. I cant see how this lad is not starting in the corner from what i have seen myself. Hate to be critical but tonights performance just highlights what a lot of people have been saying for quite a bit now.
