Limerick GAA - We get knocked down 🐐

Blackrock won 2-16 to 1-14. Bruff beat Hospital 5-13 to 1-8 earlier which means Hospital are relegated for the 2nd time in 2 years.

Blackrock, Bruff and Croom are now guaranteed semi-final places with the fourth spot to be decided between Athlacca and Garryspillane next week.

Adare and Patrickswell are level 0-10 to 1-7 at half time in the Gaelic Grounds.

Just back from Kilmallock. Premier Intermediate double header.

Glorious afternoon for hurling.

First game was very poor. Bruff trounced poor Hospital/Herbertstown. Corner forward Sean Finn bagged a hat-trick of first half goals. 4-04 to 1-03 at the break. Second half was pedestrian, both teams going through the motions. Finished something like 5-13 to 1-08, a result which condemns H/H to the intermediate grade in 2015. Without wishing to kick a team when they are down it’s hard to see them getting back up any time soon.

Second game was far closer. Blackrock led 1-08 to 0-05 at the break and after going 8 ahead early in the second half looked set to walk home but Dromin/Athlacca thundered back into it with a blitz of points, reducing the gap to three.

Up Dylan Dawson stepped who ultimately was the Blackrock match winner. Over the course of the game he scored two tremendous points from play, was fouled for another couple of frees that he pointed himself and created the match winning second goal with a rampaging run before giving an excellent pass to his onrushing team-mate to smash home. First time seeing the lad play in the flesh this year but on this evidence he is a better player than three of the forwards who got on the pitch ahead of him in Croke Park last Sunday. He’d remind you of Shaughs when he tears off on one of his surging runs. Major blunder overlooking him for the minors this year, I think he was the captain when they won the u-16 two years ago.

D/A grabbed a consolation goal in the last minute with a stunning free. Full time Blackrock 2-16 D/A 1-14. David Reidy didn’t play any part for D/A, heard he did the shoulder again lately. Terrible luck for the lad.

Just off out the door again now for the big game of the day in Ballyagran.

That Sean finn the minor corner back?

Is Dawson over-age next year for minor?

Yes

:frowning:

The dream is over.

Senior hurling championship result - Effin 2-10 Granagh/Ballingarry 0-14.

Effin stay up, Granagh/Ballingarry condemned to Premier Intermediate in 2015. Gutted. Nickie Quaid gave the best individual display I have seen in any grade this year. Operating at midfield, he had a colossal game. Caught Effin puckouts, caught G/B puckouts, popped up with scores, made assists, hooked, blocked, covered every blade of glass - he was unmarkable. On this display the Limerick management must be tempted to try him outfield.

Effin ahead by a goal at the break, 1-07 to 0-7. G/B battled back bravely to level with 5 minutes left before a long range free from the Effin 'keeper went all the way to the net. G/B responded with a point and in a dramatic finish won a free just outside the 21 but it was blocked and, after an almighty goal line scramble, eventually cleared.

Congrats to Effin. Hard luck to the G/B lads, had some absolutely great days at senior since gaining promotion in 2005 and hopefully they’ll give Premier Intermediate a right rattle next year. Great bunch of lads.

It never rains but it pours - Kilkenny in the senior, Kilkenny in the minor, United gone to shit and now this. :frowning:

How did my good friend John Dillon play?

He was good, pal. He has been corner back for the last few years but he was wing forward tonight.

Dave Moloney was excellent for Blackrock today.

Good to hear, Dave was only in at the stall this morning… If G/B only ate my olives this could have been a completely different season.

Hard lines pal. Relegation is a kick in the hole but G/B will be competitive in the PIHC next year. Can’t see them going the same way as H/H who must have been woeful judging by your report.

Was in Kilmallock for the double header. Killeedy caused an upset by beating table-toppers Pallasgreen 2-16 to 1-18. It’s winner take all now between Killeedy and Kildimo/Pallaskenry next week with the loser heading for the relegation final.

The senior game was a non-event with Kilmallock steamrolling Liberties from the first minute. It finished 1-24 to 0-7 and could have been more if Kilmallock wanted. he other results mean that Liberties have made the quarter-finals where they’ll meet Ahane in an old-time East Limerick battle. Hard to see them troubling them on tonight’s showing and they’ll be without Mikey Keane who got a straight red for a wild pull to the head of a Kilmallock player.

Quarter-finals: Adare v Kilmallock
Ahane v South Liberties

Doon and Na Piarsaigh straight through to semis. Knockainey and Granagh/Ballingarry relegated.

Hard luck @dodgy-keeper. The west’s asleep

Sad to see our good friends and neighbours Ballingarry gone down. Remaining senior for 9 seasons was a tremendous achievement considering they hadn’t played at that level since the early 1900s. Only one West Limerick team at senior level now, and not one I particularly care for.

And people still want to keep Kip in the minor job?? Limerick truly deserve the cunts they have in charge of hurling.

However, this just proves that you are just a cunt. In all your grief you had to refer to a soccerball franchise, cunt.

Neighbours?? Where are you from yourself Gaz?

Not far from Ballingarry

No more than I am yourself. I used to spend many a night in Dunworths and Mike O’Connors before it became a soccerball and thugby pub. Happy days.

Barretts was my choice of public house after matches when I lived at home.

A soccerball establishment.

Rita was a lady though.
