Limerick GAA - We get knocked down 🐐

Hmmmm I’ve never seen a Glin man to take a perceived slight in a reasonable fashion before. Let alone one of your stock

Its called family politics…
If there is a black and white victory Sunday there are likely to be post match pints :pint:
Mallow 3.15… It will be epic

He’s married into Mountcollins stock so he has to tow both party lines…
Munster GAA Post Primary Schools Dr. Harty Cup Results:
West Limerick Colleges 6-11
Blackwater CBS 1-14

Castletroy College 2-9
St Colmans 0-13

Doon 1-13
North Mon 1-15

That loss sees Doon bow out.

Flannans need to beat Ard Scoil RĂs next Monday for West Limerick to qualify, unlikely to happen.
They’re Doon and out so.

Clubs from the extreme west around the border have always got behind Kerry when it comes to football. More isolated rural areas tends be quite insular anyway. Any time I drove through Abbeyfeale in the week of a Limerick-Kerry Munster Final I saw as many if not more Kerry flags than Limerick ones on display. Tis an odd one but then again people from that area would look more towards Tralee than Limerick City.

Cman Ballyhale, oh wait.

3 months too early! :stuck_out_tongue:

Minor final finished a draw. 0-15 each.

Agreed. They are horrible bastards.

Horrible shower of cunts.

They’ll be celebrating in Mountcollins tonight.

Any detail dodgy? Couldn’t go.

Didn’t head in to it either Glas. It’s a pity it has been held up for so long and the final is being played so late.

I was at it and it was a fine game of hurling. Ahane played against a strong wind in the first half and built a tidy lead. Tom Morrissey was wearing 14 but operating out around the half-forward line where he had young Grimes in bother. Na Piarsaigh settled and, mainly through Ronan Lynch frees, were ahead by 9-8 at the half.

Ahane took the initiative again in the second half and led 14-10 before Lynch and Casey roared into the game and Na P hit 5 points in a row to lead by one with time running out. Ahane levelled with about 4 mins left and the last 5 minutes were mainly remarkable for Richie Moloney not wanting to blow a free for a team to win it. As a result, some liberal tackling by both sides was allowed although Na P had a glorious chance in the final minute. Kieran Daly burst through and could have pointed but laid off a pass outside where a point was also nailed on. The young lad saw glory and shot for goal only to see it fly across the goal and wide. A small bit more skelping and the final whistle blew.

Decent game, in fairness. Some of the Ahane crowd were whinging about it being played in the Gaelic Grounds so it’ll be interesting to see if the replay goes out the county. Presumably that game will be on next Saturday.

A fair synopsis. It got very dark at one stage and they turned on the lights (badly needed) but brightened up again. A draw was a fair result some might say, but both teams will think they left it after them. Na Piarsaigh need to get into the game faster. Ahane need to stay in it when the going gets tough.

I was at the Glin/Brosna match yesterday as an interested neutral. It was a bitterly cold day for a game of football in windswept Mallow. Cold as it was the two sides served up an exciting game, albeit hard to watch in parts. Both sides employed the blanket defence to good effect but it made hard watching at times. It was described beforehand as a battle of the full forward lines and thats exactly how it turned out. In the Glin corner there was Mark Culhane and in the Brosna corner much of the talk had been about young McGoldrick (at centre forward who was very productive from frees) but the man of the hour was Adam Barry in at number 15. He gave an exhibition of point kicking (scored 0-7) from both feet and tormented the Glin full back line for the hour. Brosna moved the ball from the half backs much quicker than Glin and it paid dividends whereas the Glin work out of defence was slow and methodical. It was really only when Glin had their backs to the wall late in the game that they started kicking it out of defence and it caused enough of mayhem in the Brosna defence - makes you think if they had employed that from the off how it would have worked out…

Two minor notes 1. Credit to Mallow, they have a fantastic setup and it easily accommodated a double fixture that would have caused mayhem elsewhere. 2. The referee - Kissane from Waterford, didn’t really cover himself in glory… He was consistent with serious fouls but very inconsistent with smaller stuff… things like over carrying and kicking the ball out of a players hands whilst he was picking it up… A few ground picks ups also went a begging. All in all, whilst the losers may feel hard done by over individual decisions, I think its fair to say that the better team won.

Caul Pollins read out a congratulations message this morning on Today FM from Brosna’s great neighbours Mountcollins. They were delighted to see their close friends winning such a title. :D:D

Adare rumoured to have a big name lined up for next year…

JP?

Loughnane? Daly? Lohan?
