Is there any chance Ger Collins could be coaxed back for the championship? Itā€™ll still be very tough to beat Clare in Ennis and heā€™d make a huge difference if he was available.

Sorry gose you thick fuck.

Any word on when the minor team will be named? @ciarancareyshurlingarmy, care to have a go at it?

Heā€™s probably overage for it at this stage.

I would expect something along the lines of the following:

  1. Eoghan McNamara (Doon)
  2. Jack Oā€™Grady (Knockainey)
  3. Micheal Bourke (Garryspillane)
  4. Conor McSweeney (South Liberties)
  5. Conor Byrnes (Murroe/Boher)
  6. Paddy Oā€™Loughlin (Kilmallock)
  7. Thomas Grimes (Na Piarsaigh)
  8. Thomas Hayes (Doon)
  9. Ciaran Oā€™Connor (Kilmallock)
  10. Seamus Flanagan (Feohanagh)
  11. Peter Casey (Na Piarsaigh)
  12. Kyle Hayes (Kildimo/Pallaskenry)
  13. Barry Murphy (Doon)
  14. Conor Boylan (Na Piarsaigh)
  15. Darragh Carroll (Kilteely/Dromkeen)

Interesting. Casey at centre-forward? Heā€™s a hugely talented player but heā€™s not much of a ball-winning option, surely heā€™d be better closer to goal?

Iā€™m not sure what the team will be but I would have thought itā€™d be a bit different to that. Weā€™ll see. That half-back line and half-forward line do look very strong.

Iā€™d be fairly confident of the 1-9 given what theyā€™ve played in recent challenges etc. Itā€™ll be trickier to select the forwards. Flanagan could go to the edge of the square, Casey might be in the inside line (although I donā€™t think so) and Brian McPartland of Doon will be close to starting as will Conor Houlihan of Na Piarsaigh and Cian Magner Flynn of Killeedy.

Just my guess.

After their challenge match away to Dublin last week the team stayed ā€˜aboveā€™ in the capital- or outside really. To their surprise a shout of drop your cocks and grab your jocks, socks, helmets and togs went up at 6am whereupon the team were driven to the curragh camp and made sprint through the 8 mile assault course.

Fair enough. Havenā€™t seen them play any challenges so obviously Iā€™m speaking from a point of ignorance but I thought Hayes of Doon would be employed deeper than that. I think it would be a waste to play Flanagan on the edge of the square as good as he is there; his work rate and intelligence of passing were unbelievable last year and I thought he might be played in the middle of the field.

Hayes could come to wing-back, though Iā€™d consider it unlikely as the half-back line is very strong with all 3 having played in last yearā€™s AI Final.
