Let me know if you need it be no problem pal!
FUCK UP PUTTING UP FALSE TEAMS
Likely match-ups for the Clare forwards and Limerick backs?
O’Donnell/Finn
Shanagher/Richie
McGrath/Casey
Conlon/Morrissey
Podge/Hannon
Kelly/Hickey
I’d prefer Hickey on Conlon but we don’t have anyone that can definitely shackle Kelly. I’d probably switch Finn and Casey too.
Conlon bullied the fuck out of us last year - Hickey is not the man for him… I don’t know who is.
Reckon we’ll we a sweeper being used or man to man?
Can’t see us playing an actual sweeper, we might see a third man in midfield for a while, although probably not for a full 70 minutes.
We’ll almost certainly be playing a sweeper/3rd midfielder for the entire game.
A third midfielder and a sweeper are not even nearly the same thing. I’d presume that Lynch will be there for large periods but it would be a huge mistake not to go man to man on their full back line at times and put real pressure on them.
Assume Hannon will sit on the edge of the D so to speak and Browne or one of the midfielders will pick up Kelly with Cian Lynch coming playing deep and two men inside.
Would have to agree with that. While appreciating that it’s a totally different Clare set up, last year was so frustrating. We left them off with the short puck outs for 55 minutes and they walked the ball through us.
We finally went man to man for the last 15 and nearly caught them
I mean Clare will probably drop a man so we’ll have a free man in the backs anyway.
I wouldn’t be too sure about that
Last year’s game is irrelevant as both sides were lame ducks and whoever won was going to be fodder for any serious team . Clare were a shambles last year and if the game is at last year’s standard both teams are makeweights . The same applied in. 2015 btw.
I’d put any money on it.
Will your buddy Nasher be playing?
They may not set up conventionally (3+3) but the norm for Moloney & O’Connor has been a four man half-forward line. So there would be no ‘free’ back as such. Whether they will follow the same approach with Kinnerk in the opposing camp remains to be seen.
It will be either casey or Nash in for hego
Who will Clare drop back? Kelly will be roaming around the place alright but he’ll surely pop up in the forwards too.
You don’t even no what the Clare team is yet. We’ve had at least 15 different versions of the limerick team and none of them have been right.
