Well a mix of that and Dowling and Casey coming on and bringing Limerick back into it. Limerickās starting 15 certainly didnāt hurl that well
Is Julio getting married?
Jules is married 2 year now kid.
The boys didnāt make much impact until the cork lads went off. Thought by extra time corks legs were completely gone.
You have a point . The Clare game aside it was probably limerickās least effective display of the championship . Plenty to work on .
Limerick won due to a better (slightly) conversion rate
I get what youāre saying and agree to a certain degree, but there probably are plenty of things that could have made a difference for Cork. And theyāll look at them and try to improve next year.
I just think that the difference between winning and losing is huge, even with a narrow gap on the scoreboard. Everything that you do all year is geared towards having enough to get over the line at the end of 70 minutesā¦ And that is what you are judged on. For example, Kilkenny at their peak would have had a few narrow victories but youād always back them down the home straight.
Last year Limerick lost to Kilkenny by 3 and it was a close game, and we hit a lot of wides and maybe on another day we could have won. But we didnāt, and there really were so man little things that we did wrong or did badly and that added up to just a 3-point defeat. That may be just one score, but in real terms, itās huge.
We simply didnāt play well enough to win against kk last year. We lost by 3 in a low scoring game, it was a decent enough margin in the context of the game and not really comparable to Sundayās game for me.
It would be better for Limerick to look at the match over 70 minutes.
Drunk
I was about to report you missing.
Lady Luck definitely favoured us.
We were six down and rattled off four in a row. Down by two when Horgan took a shot and it hit the post before falling for a Limerick player before working it upfield for the Dow to make it a one point match. A two point swing. Itās those little marginsā¦
We pointed from the missed Harnedy goal chance as well - went from us being buried to us going 1 ahead.
You take your luck when it comes.
We missed an amount of goals again in normal time lads.
When we were on top of the game we left about 3 goals after us. We are a better team than Cork, only slightly now, but Iām convinced we are.
We found ourselves 6 points down because we went into cruise mode, which this team is wont to do. As soon as we snapped out of it we resumed the battering of them in the full forward line. We absolutely ate their full back line all day
Fortune favours the brave
I thought we were much better below in Cork with 14 men than last Sunday.
Half backline and midfield were well below par. Nice way to face into a final with loads more left in the tank.
That match in Salthill was colossal in terms of the development of this team.
Our halfback line cant have a day like that again.
